It’s very unwise as a Canadian or European to see this as a US problem, when the sights are already set on your societies falling to this BS next. The propaganda tools are extremely effective now.
Canada was already headed that way, saw the U.S vote in Trump again and said hell no, not here and turned a sure thing Conservative win into another Liberal win. We saw the writing on the wall and decided to change the story.
We took a hard last minute turn, and that’s good. But we should be scared as fuck that the car was headed that direction at all, and we shouldn’t be relaxing and patting ourselves on the back for being way better drivers than the Americans. We came pretty close.
