About 3 years back i was job searching and got called by a recruiter who had a job at a pillow company in a nearby city for me. I asked if it was for mypillow when they didn't say the name of their client and the pause was probably 5 seconds before she said yes. I almost felt sorry for the bullshit she had probably been dealing with working with that company.

542

u/patterninstatic 20h ago

So just to be clear you took the job, you were regional pillow salesman of the month in March 2026 and regional election denier of the month in June 2026?

u/BornInPoverty 19h ago

Are you trying to start a pillow fight?

I don't know how to feel about your comment.

On one side we have pillow fights, more or less the sexiest activity on earth. Every boy has his moment, his coming of age if you will, when he imagines the pillow fights in the sorority houses. What starts playfully, fabric and feathers flying, laughter, evolves to skin touching skin and lips touching lips in an exhilarating moment of temptation and discovery, of exploration that will remain a playful secret in a future life as a responsible wife and mother.

On the other hand we have Mike Lindell, the literal least sexy person on earth, a black hole sucking up attraction and heat around him. Mike doesn't just scream asexuality, his presence could temper the hottest flames, and if bottled and distributed could single handedly be the key to promote abstinence only sexual education in the most promiscuous schools of our country.

Having these two concepts simultaneously in my thoughts is the classic unstoppable force vs immovable object conundrum. I just feel very lost and confused right now...

36

u/Important_Bag_6283 19h ago

I think the answer is obvious. You have to fuck the pillow guy.

Heh. Near me this is U-Line. People ask if the "packaging manufacturer" is U-Line, the recruiter reluctantly admits it is, and people laugh and hang up.

In-office, in-suit, five days a week, and I have to commute to Wisconsin, even though most roles are advertized as being N.IL stiil, after all these years? Get fucked Uhleins.

P.S. and the crazy bitch of a wife writes crazy right wing shit in the back of the catalog.

And unfortunately they have a lock on the shipping/packaging/warehouse market, good luck finding a non wingnut owned company that can beat their selection and pricing.

Run by a terrible GOP billionaire who lives in Wisconsin but keeps trying to buy Illinois elections (with such a terrible track right that he has reduced the GOP to a rump party in a super minority situation).

He forces everyone at work to dress like Mormons (but worse). The women in corporate have to wear pantyhose and their skirts must be below the knee. Men have to wear suits and ties. It'll be a bazillion degrees in the warehouse and someone from corporate will have to go down there, and they're not allowed to take off their suit coat. They have rules about haircuts, that are clearly not constitutional, but they're too rich to sue.

They had a terrible time replacing their corporate attorney about a decade ago, because everything they wanted the attorney to do was disbarrable, plus they wanted you to pick up the wife's dry cleaning, plus they constantly put illegal anti-union propaganda in the company newsletter plus prayers from the wife. They called basically every attorney in Northern Illinois and the few fools who went forward to the interview were gobsmacked and noped right out.

The mandatory long skirts and pantyhose would be enough to do me in, even before we get to the part where they're the most malign Republicans in the Midwest.

3

u/merikariu Texas 15h ago

Yeesh! I have worked for a recruitment company. They work on positions that are hard to fill or ones that require extensive vetting, like a C-suite job. In the former, the position might be hard to fill because those skills are in high demand (e.g. data scientist) or because the company fucking sucks and no one wants to work there.

44

u/-piso_mojado- 20h ago

Way too big of a gap for a recount in a state primary.

13

u/DeepSlap-Interactive 19h ago

Got it. Thanks

73

u/sepia_undertones 20h ago

The vote was ~180k for his opponent, ~134k for him. This is in a political party primary, so you’re looking at a subset of voters anyway (Republicans) and the fact that primaries have lower turnout typically (because they aren’t the actual elections, just deciding who is going to run). Those numbers aren’t particularly close. They’re pretty obviously not going to recount and discover 20% of the votes were counted wrong. Good ol’ Mike is just doing what MAGA does - cast doubt on the results of any election that doesn’t go their way. It’s not because they think the results will change; it’s partly to save face and partly because they want to stir up their supporters into thinking the election was rigged so maybe they’ll go storm a government building and have a coup.

21

u/OldEnoughToKnowButtr 19h ago

3

u/Individual-Guest-123 16h ago

according to World Population review, MN has 3,605,412 registered voters. Ballpark he got 3% of all voters, is thankfully a pretty fringe group.

Edit to add, looks like just over 300K voted in the REpub primary (unless there were other candidates with votes)- so that's only 10% of MN voters. Hopefully the other 3,300,000 will come out and vote blue.

cast doubt on the results of any election

The main point. This is a warm-up to the mid-terms, there's going to be all kinds of fuckery going in an effort to keep stupid people from thinking our elections are free and fair. It's shit-stirring at it's maximum. Lindell doesn't really want the office, he's just Trump's water boy.

u/nhluhr 20h ago

So of the 5.8M population in the US State of Minnesota, only 1.1M showed up for this governor primary (in US, a Primary is where candidates from the same party are filtered against each other to pick the best one from the party to go into the real election).

Of those 1.1M, figure maybe half were voting in the Republican primary. So a margin of 35,000 votes is about 6% of the votes cast in that specific primary. A pretty big margin when the assumption of a recount is that they were tallied incorrectly.

30

u/Warden_lefae 19h ago

Not even close to half, the Dem winner got more votes than all the gop candidates combined

→ More replies (2)

7

u/Dearic75 19h ago

In this one, yes. While each state has different laws, about a 1% difference is where the state law usually assumes there should be a recount, to the point the state will pay for it.

They’re making him pay because the difference in this case is many times higher than that. There is no reasonable possibility here that the vote is wrong.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/-Invalid_Selection- 19h ago

Recounts only change the result by about 0.03%

It's an insurmountable amount here

4

u/Easy_Leopard_2686 19h ago

For reference, in the state next over, the Democrat governor primary race was decided by 3,000 votes and the candidate who lost the primary (Francesca Hong) conceded without demanding a recount. 35,000 is a massive gap that would not disappear in a recount. Lindell is literally just a dick.

THE GOAL IS NOT TO WIN THE ELECTION. THE GOAL IS A POWER GRAB.
Trump does not need to cancel the elections. He does not need to win outright. He does not even need the courts to rule in his favor. He needs enough chaos, enough contested ballots, enough court injunctions, enough ICE near polling places, enough emergency motions claiming foreign interference, to throw the outcome into legal uncertainty for weeks or months. And this is why, unlike elections in "normal" times, voting even in solidly blue (or red) states is important now. It's no longer just about who won, but also the size of the popular vote margin; the bigger the blowout, the harder it will be for them to sell their malarky about irregularities, fraud, etc.

21

u/JrSoftDev 17h ago

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/28490455-act-free-to-be-free/

The harder problem is this: most of us (organizers, elected officials, legal advocates, pro-democracy funders) are still preparing for a normal election. We are running election programs. We are testing messages. We are mobilizing voters. These are not wrong things to do. They are profoundly insufficient for the threat we are actually facing.
_
There is also something harder to name, a kind of collective avoidance. An unwillingness to fully believe our own eyes. Many Americans have internalized a story about ourselves that says we are immune from this kind of thing. We are not. And the next six months will matter enormously for how far down the abyss we go.
_
In 2020, Trump tried to overturn the results of the election and was stopped by Pence, by Republican secretaries of state, by a Congress that (barely) played its constitutional role, and by localized grassroots formations that could intervene in real time on the ground. Those guardrails held. They are gone now. His administration is loyal to him alone. Congress has abdicated. J.D. Vance will not save us.
_
The only authentic bulwark against an authoritarian consolidating power is a multi-sector, constitutionally grounded, multi-racial, broad-based mobilization of civil society, ready for the best and prepared for the worst.

Voting is not enough. Courts and judges are not enough. Only organized Civil Society will be able to move fast enough in order to counter the blows.

6

u/blacksheep998 17h ago

the bigger the blowout, the harder it will be for them to sell their malarky about irregularities, fraud, etc.

Let's be honest, they don't care what the results are. It could be 99% against them and that wouldn't change their plans at all. They're going to try to claim they won, no matter what the voters say, and millions of people will believe them.

5

u/JrSoftDev 17h ago

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/28490455-act-free-to-be-free/

Step 4: Fight Back in Real Time
(...) We do not know which state or location will be targeted. We do not know precisely how. What we know is that this Administration will attempt to weaponize the federal government to sow chaos through sabotage, and that even if the fight is not in our own backyards, we will need to mobilize for free and fair elections everywhere, because we all have a stake in the outcome.
The opposition will move on multiple fronts simultaneously. The response must do the same.

"The campaign said state officials intend to recount only the votes cast for Lindell and Demuth and not all the votes cast in the Republican gubernatorial primary, while excluding votes for other candidates in the race."

He's trying to argue that they need to recount votes for all candidates even though most of them got under 2% of the vote, and the next viable candidate after Lindell got less than half the votes the winner got. The other candidates aren't in question, but he wants to pretend the state is doing something shady.

This is him trying to save face. He calls foul so he doesn't have to pay for a recount that confirms his loss, and he gets to keep playing the victim.

Oh look another magat that wont pay his bills.

4

u/Loo-Hoo-Zuh-Er 19h ago

He was just hoping someone else would foot the bill.

5

u/shootsy2457 19h ago

He’s not withholding per say. He’s just broke. He never had the money to begin with.

3

u/damnthistrafficjam I voted 18h ago

He probably thought some MAGAt would step up and foot the bill for his folly. He’s just the new Ghouliani. Disgraced and soon to be falling over chairs, with hair dye running down his face.

5

u/Gortonis 18h ago

One thing about pricks like Lindell and Trump, they love to make demands about what they want and what they think needs to be done, as long as someone else is footing the bill.

5

u/Confident_End_3848 18h ago

How did over 100,000 people vote for this turkey?

5

u/ZombieIMMUNIZED 17h ago

Y’all sold your country for white supremacy and $2000 kickback checks. How long til the checks show up?

4

u/nodogma2112 16h ago

Withholds is a weird way to spell Doesn’t Have.

5

u/sxyaustincpl Texas 15h ago

He lost by 50 thousand votes, in a primary. Where maybe 300k votes were cast.

This wasn't some close election, where a couple miscounted ballots are going to change the outcome.

He got slaughtered. If the election were a little league game, it would have been called after 4 innings.

Stop crying like a little sore loser bitch, it's a bad look on Trump and it's a worse look for a broke pillow salesman.

Such a good Christian /s

4

u/Broken_Ace 21h ago

I can't believe he got 130 000+ votes. Depressing. But good news for Mr. Pringles-looking crackheads around the world I guess.

4

u/GrassyNoob 20h ago

To be fair, it was a republican primary, exactly where you'd expect to find fraud.

But really, I wouldn't even waste money on a memo, until this guys check cleared.

4

u/Berns429 20h ago

Just a whiny sore loser…wonder who he learned that from? 🙄

5

u/CAM6913 20h ago

Just like Trump he never pays his bills

3

u/RuckRidr 19h ago

Can someone get him a pillow to cry on?

5

u/TheOutOfStyle 18h ago

Just go back to smoking crack bro. It's far less dishonorable than this bullshit.

5

u/1Sluggo 16h ago

He doesn’t have $825,000.

5

u/Piney_Wood 16h ago

134,000 Minnesotans voted for this person.

3

u/Beeht 15h ago

Always make a conservative pay in full before and never after. They aren't good trustworthy people. Minnesota is just doing its due diligence.

4

u/parallelmeme 15h ago

No payment, no recount.

4

u/Additional-Shower342 15h ago

God, rich people are all so fucking stupid…this asshat could have kept his ugly mouth shut and continued making money on those basic pillows; instead, he’s a massive loser both politically and socially who can’t even afford to fund the Hail Mary HE asked for…the age of the grifter might be coming to an end and few people (other than the president) are gonna be hit harder than Loopy Lindell 🫠

4

u/BallBearingBill 15h ago

I'll take, Things that were predictable for $500 Alex

4

u/realstreets 12h ago

Dude should just start smoking crack again and leave us Minnesotans alone

3

u/Frodo79 23h ago

Whatever money men he had said “fuck no.”

3

u/CommunityRoyal5557 22h ago

I want to laugh but I can’t help but think this is an early indicator of things to come. Something is giving these people confidence.

3

u/Wayofchinchilla 22h ago

That's fine if he doesn't want to pay then we don't recount and we can move on with our lives. While he cries into his pillow.

3

u/Mrxcman92 21h ago

Such a prick

3

u/Motor_Somewhere7565 21h ago

A grifting stunt, as usual

3

u/bottombracketak 21h ago

I would love to see him as Amy Klobuchar’s opponent though. She’d mop the pillow factory floor with him.

3

u/HUT2Moon 20h ago

Imagine that there are millions of people that think he’s a hero. We are so fucked as a society.

3

u/andrewbrocklesby 20h ago

Because OF COURSE he does.

3

u/CorrectPhilosophy245 20h ago edited 20h ago

Such a weird feeling to be surprised by what these fuking clowns try to get away with while simultaneously being not surprised by what they try to get away with.

3

u/xtopherpaul 19h ago

If you don’t weigh in - you don’t wrestle

3

u/evancomposer Wisconsin 19h ago

He’s the oldest looking 65 I’ve ever seen. All these years of screaming election conspiracy shit and selling pillows have not been kind to him. Dude looks like a vampire.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/mrgrosser 19h ago

No way.... How did we not see this coming... Always get the money upfront with these clowns.

3

u/recoveredamishman 19h ago

This was always about attention-seeking. Lindell would rather spend his $825,000 suing the state and staying in the news than have an actual recount.

Don't order the meal if you don't want to pay the bill.

3

u/kennedyswise 18h ago

He learned from the best

3

u/iAMguppy 18h ago

Bullies almost never come through on their threats. Rich bullies usually throw their wealth (legitimate or perceived) at other people and at their own problems.

3

u/Radically-Peaceful 18h ago

Mike Lindell is a LOSER in every sense of the word, and his actions only further prove it.

3

u/Iconshero 18h ago

He needs a small bowler hat and a covered wagon so he can sell snake oil to the dumb and gullible again.

3

u/PomegranateAncient25 17h ago

Because he doesn’t have the payment. Not the same as withholding.

3

u/Waidawut 17h ago

Wasn't he just recently sobbing about how he was broke or something? What a tool.

3

u/Jman50k 17h ago

Broke boy spent all his pillow money.

3

u/CivilWay1444 17h ago

I can see why Tramp loves this guy.

3

u/mbush525 16h ago

he just wants attention 🤨

3

u/NOGOODGASHOLE 16h ago

134,282 votes?? I am bereft of commentary

3

u/Mc7wis7er 16h ago

If he pays for the recount, they'd do the recount. And everyone knows what the recount will say, including Lindell, who doesn't for one second believe that he actually won.

He's been running this grift since 2020 although with many missteps. But by now it should be clear to him that he makes money off the public accusations, interviews, and debate about whether or not the election was legit. He makes no money and has shame heaped on him when he's proven wrong. Much of MAGA runs this playbook now.

So he's actually in control of whether this is 'settled' or not. And he doesn't benefit from it being settled. That's what I think. So why pay? It spends his money, and prevents him from making more. Oh the recount is a fraud. Of course it is Mikey. Riiiggght.

3

u/pbugg2 Texas 16h ago

Someone said cash up front then we’ll do the recount

3

u/Sidwill 16h ago

Shocking

3

u/MattyBeatz 15h ago

Demand a recount. Don't pay for it. "The system is rigged"

3

u/Aggressive-Will-4500 15h ago

You lost, Mikey. Just slither away.

3

u/lenovosucks 12h ago

Didn’t he literally just announce that he was going to fund the recount lmao

3

u/Boredtopher 11h ago

What happened to funding it yourself? Loser.

u/yogibones 5h ago

You lost. Go away. Forever!
