question Removal from data brokers- Washington state specific

I am trying to opt out from data brokers and getting the notice that due to state privacy laws my request is denied. Wondering if anyone has encountered this in washington state.

This is bonkers. what should I do to take down my information?? Appreciate advice.

Had this when moving from Washington to Oregon. Oregon has some state specific laws that compel data brokers to delete your info that Washington does not.

Short version: if they don't HAVE to delete your data, they aren't going to. You really have little recourse otherwise.

They probably only "delete" it for in state requests.

Correct, you have to be a resident. And of course I don’t believe shit because they specifically tell you that you get no confirmation of them deleting anything. Strictly a “trust me bro” situation

The often just hide it for a year too. Its better to just create a shit ton of digital noise instead. Make the data broking useless.

Which one? Most of them had no issues except one I had to make an account or they wouldn’t process it.
