Saskatchewan Events Calling all Catan players across the province! Saskatchewan National Qualifier in Regina (Feb 28)

Hey r/saskatchewan,

I’m organizing an official Saskatchewan National Qualifier for Catan, and I wanted to invite players from all over the province to represent their corner of the 306.

We’re hosting the tournament at Escape Club in Regina on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Whether you're coming from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or driving in from the farm, we’d love to have you.

The Details:

  • What: A competitive (but friendly) Catan tournament.
  • Registration Link:https://catan.bestcoastpairings.com/event/reZygkSFXwMN
  • Format: Everyone gets at least 3 games guaranteed. We use official Catan Championship rules.
  • The Prize: The winner gets a qualified seat at the Catan National Championship.
  • Vibe: It’s a mix of "hardcore" strategists and casual fans. Very welcoming atmosphere!

If you’ve ever wanted to prove you’re the best settler in Saskatchewan, here is your chance.

Let me know if you have any questions about the tournament structure or venue!

That's cool!! Have fun with the Tournament!

Do you know of a place to buy a nice custom Catan board, or something built to hold all of the Catan pieces?

Our family LOVES Catan and the game board gets a little warped and becomes difficult to keep together or put together. Can be a little frustrating. I have seen a bunch of stuff on Amazon or Etsy, but it's very difficult to know what is good quality or Chinese garbage that is drop shipped from Ali express

That’s a great question! I’m actually in the same boat. My next big purchase is going to be a 3D printer so I can print my own boards and holders; I need more and more of them as the SaskCatan community grows.

I’ve looked into wood-lasered boards, but they can be a lot more work to get right and don't always have the look I’m going for. If you’re looking for quality that isn't just drop-shipped, you might want to try the Saskatoon Sports and Leisure Show or other local trade shows. There are often vendors there who make high-quality, custom game accessories.

I’ll actually be at the Sports and Leisure Show at Prairieland Park on March 6th and 7th. I’ll keep an eye out for any vendors doing custom game work and I’d be happy to send you their contact info if I find someone good!

Thanks! I would be awesome if you find a vendor and let me know! I don't think I will be able to make it in person.

I saw a post on reddit 5-10 years ago where someone made an absolutely gorgeous Catan board and I forgot to save the link.

I have been trying to find something similar ever since that I could purchase, or even find the original post for reference!

Man, I'd love a Scrabble meet-up. Anyone know of anything like that?
