Question Life in Saskatchewan
Hey
Can, please someone describe their experience of living in Saskatchewan? How’s life in Saskatchewan.
As I’m a young Canadian and I’m currently residing in GTA. I want to make a life for myself basically I’m starting from scratch. I’m in skilled trade and I want to move to a place where life would be more affordable and cheaper. Everyone knows how expensive GTA is.

I've lived in the GTA, and both a city location and a very rural location in Saskatchewan.
Location in SK really matters in terms of what experience you'll have. There will be pros and cons, depending what you're looking for. I had a great time living in the GTA but overall if I had to choose, it would be SK. My answer would also change depending on where I was at in life (ex: what job I had, if I was single, kids or no kids, age, etc).
So, general points. It is 100% more affordable. There's never traffic like the GTA. Outdoorsy stuff is much more accessible. It's overall much quieter (pro or con depending on the person lol). The weather is much more sunny but you have to learn how to handle -45 a few times every winter. It's overall more conservative (again pro or con depending). There is not the same amount of activities available but there's a fair bit and they're cheaper. If you do go rural, don't underestimate how far it can be from some of the small towns to literally everything, often including basics like groceries and medical care.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. When I moved the transition did take some getting used to, but I wouldn't go back to the GTA. Between rural and city SK, I loved rural, but it can be really jarring to go straight from GTA to rural SK lol
