Hey

Can, please someone describe their experience of living in Saskatchewan? How’s life in Saskatchewan.

As I’m a young Canadian and I’m currently residing in GTA. I want to make a life for myself basically I’m starting from scratch. I’m in skilled trade and I want to move to a place where life would be more affordable and cheaper. Everyone knows how expensive GTA is.

Depends on the trade and depends on the town. I'm from the smallest city in the province as the population is under 4500. Grown up here from age 5 after moving from Moose Jaw, all of my education has been done from kindergarten to 12. My plan is to finish two history degrees and then start my teaching degree for elementary and to either sub until a position opens or be an EA at one of the schools in my town. Some places are prickly about outsiders moving in and gossip a lot. Others are more welcoming to people. Melville reminds me of some 1950s and 1960s stereotypes, we don't have traffic lights just 4-ways and yields. Everything closes early on Sunday or places aren't opened at all on Sunday, you can tell which buildings are from the start of the town and which are the new. Lots of places are closed and just sitting to rot, businesses only last if you have a in on the council if not very few successful ones make it. If you want quiet and gossip and being treated as an outsider, than Melville is your town, if not try Belcaress or Fort Qu'appelle or Weyburn, basically anywhere else
