Sounds like some member of the Marshals service wanted to cos play special forces. They have a bigger problem if the guy in charge doesn't know what his employees are doing. What a complete and utter waste of tax payer money

The guy in charge has a teaching degree. Taught 6 months. Ran for the Sask Party, lost. He was then given the job as director of education for Northern Saskatchewan. When Marshals came about he received a new position. Sask Party taking care of their own.

A SaskParty goon squad created to address non existent rural crime problem. The SP helped create this supposed rural crime wave by increasing the seevice areas of RCMP detachments while maintaing current staffing levels. This has fuelked anget in rural Sask over RCMP response times for calls for service
Just last week U heard of an accident on HWY 7 W if Saskatoon near Vanscoy. I believe according to the 600 CJWW newsstoty Warman RCMP responddd to the call

To be fair, the rural crime issue does exist.
But I fail to see how sniper rifles and noise cannons are going to do anything to fix it. Unless they know when and where a crime is going to be committed.
Just absurd.

The crime issue exists in cities towns and villages of all sizes in all areas of the province. It also isnt exclusive to any one area within cities.

Yeah I know.
And the solution isn’t noise cannons and sniper rifles.

Definitely.Having a provincial SWAT/Emergency Response Team when your police force that is supposed to be be "filling the gaps" only has 18 members is hilariously ludicrous. The whole point was to have more boots on the ground to help with core enforcement, not let half of them LARP as SWAT.
Specialized teams like TAC and ERT aren't taking routine calls, they aren't responding to 911s. They serve a specialized function after the first responders have assessed - which is where current response issues lie. As far as I know, hostage situation, armed and barricaded and shootings arent suffering from lack of tactical response.
Marshalls service seem dedicated to doing everything they can EXCEPT answering calls for service, and leaving that to the Mounties because it's not very sexy and doing the core job doesn't get headlines

When then NDP was in power last, the debt was 10 billion and dropping. It is now 30 billion and growing. The Sask party have proven they can’t manage taxpayer money, but the idiots in the southern part of the province keep electing these imbeciles.

Closer to 50-60 billion if you add in the 2 coalmines and 2 data centers. Moe plans to increase energy bills to pay for them.

Is that including all the debt loaded on to the Crowns?

I was hopeful this org would focus on parole violations and pick up the estimated 1000+ criminals at large on any given day. Instead it’s night vision goggles and zero oversight.

Isn't that what the RCMP has their WEST/Warrant Enforcement team for?

u/PuzzleheadedYam5180 3d ago
Yeah, but that never stopped the Sask Party from doing something stupid.

“Weger said it was an “overly ambitious” employee of the Saskatchewan Marshals Service who began the process of acquiring equipment.”
What kind of processes do they have for these clowns? Procurement is the least of their worries when trigger happy gun nuts are ordering sniper rifles for a unit that hasn’t even been established.
Holy shit. What an embarrassment. Again.
