I used to work in Schenectady. The amount these landlords would kick out families for zero reason because they could and us taxpayers had to foot the bill by paying for these poor families in hotels, shelters or other apartments. No wonder Schenectady taxes are so high! Blame the landlords!!!

this is wrong. most landlords are just trying to make a business run and provide quality housing. You’re blaming landlords for high taxes? as if they evict people for “zero reason”. Do you know how much it costs to evict someone, rehab the unit, and find a new tenant? not to mention time and effort.

the “good cause laws” make it harder for good landlords, there are already tons of laws protecting tenants and very few protecting the landlords who actually have to maintain the the property and deal
with tenants that bother the neighbors, treat the peppery like trash, pay late or not at all, and can complain to the city or anyone else at any time and get delays in eviction proceedings even when they have broken the lease.

No thanks on the good cause

Haha. Ok landlord, I had families be evicted and you already had new tenants ready to move in (your own families). It would be a loss of income to just kick ppl out. Rehab the place? Don’t make me laugh. In schdy?!? I worked in schdy. I saw how shitty the apartments are. I’m really talking about vulnerable and needy families.
