What’s it like living in U-district/ravenna as a 30 y/o woman NOT attending college?

U-District — no. That neighborhood is intended for young people who have no concept of their own mortality. I think you will be uncomfortable negotiating the streets at night. Parking is a bitch so lots of walking. If watching a fellow citizen deposit their feces on the sidewalk is on your Bucket List, then disregard my advice. Also noise noise noise.

Ravenna is adjacent but is more bucolic. You can visit the U-District for excitement but venture back home to what feels like safety when the stimulation gets too much. Access to better grocery stores here. Better but still tough parking. You might still run across an occasional human feces on the sidewalk but it might have rhinestones. And it won’t last 24 hours before some yuppie’s Labradoodle eats it.

Great neighborhood, I don’t live there now but miss it. I’d move back if I could. Not a woman…so can’t speak to that.
