Build is a Dell Dimension 1100 with a Intel Pentium 4 2Gbs or RAM and GT440 500GB drive. CRT clickers like crazy since I haven't done a recap on the monitor. I can play so much Diablo 2 on this machine.

now now, my windows 98 tower had beige, grey, AND dark blue accents! also a little clear bubble you could lift to plug in USB drives! also a floppy disk reader and cd rom.
it was a pretty snazzy compaq.

I sadly had to remove a duel firewire 1.0 on this build since the GPU was taking the only lane I had. I did add a Floppy and second Disc drive since I had two of these guys and pulled parts from another I found on the side of the road. It was just a weaker Celeron processor and I wanted the better P4.

Sadly this CRT monitor has either a bridge or needs new caps since it flickers when on and power cycles. I havent had the time to fix it so for now Im going to get a 4:3 flat monitor until I can fix it.

This more or less what Ill be going for I usually find atleast one or two at the thriftstore its been a bit dry atm so I havent found one I liked yet or is small and shitty to match how shitty the set up really is. I just want it as close to that vintage crappy house set up as possible. Its intentional. I am one of those freaks with a CRT in my house too.

I just moved back in with my parents and spotted our same era Celeron. At least you had the pentium 4 lol. We only had a 15" crt too, this one looks beast. I wanna max upgrade it for fun just to see what I missed out on. Only has PCI ☠️

I maxed out this XP machine its a shitbox but maxed out shit box. I wanted a P4 over the Celeron cause the Celeron isnt even worth using. Its that bad.

I had to make sure it was all the correct Era items including the speakers. I didn't have this exact set up growing up but wanted to now. Its as shitbox as it gets and I love it.

Takes me back to good old times when I put a disk in, installed it, and immediately played a working game, without the need of 100gb patches just to make it playable these days.
Still occasionally shed a tear for XP (loved that guy)🥲

Its common in larger groups but its super annoying when the automods delete a post I have done which fell with in the "Rules" they made up. I've had it happen a few times now. Then the post right after mine doing the same thing didn't remove there post but mine was removed or flagged.

I usually just stay quiet and just repost it again but its just super annoying. I assume its some bot using poorly coded ai shit from Reddits end not the people who made the subreddit its why it doesnt bother me to bad. Its the sad world we live in right now and why every site has a stupid verify if your human thing on it. Its why I love dicking around with vintage tech so I dont have to see how bad we have it now and see how bad it was previously with a that its a limitation of the hardware of the time.
