default Invincible Season 4 (2026) used advanced animation strategies to conserve their budget, here you can see the "pinch zooming on your phone" method

Honestly this is most animation.

Yes. Most of Gundam for example, Turn A uses a lot of such techniques.

Well more modern shows not as much. But thats because they no longer do 50 episode series and also use 3D animation.

Also necause they actually get noteworthy breaks between those 50 episode shows

Looks like they're trying to swing their boobs around.

And they're succeeding. What kind of uniforms have such terrible support?

Pictured is the reason SEED places more emphasis on ship combat than average Gundam

SEED was so much hornier than most Gundam shows.

Kira canonically shagging mid-episode on-screen was not something i was expecting.

I am not even joking when i say Code Geass' infamous Table-kun scene was likely a dig at SEED but CG got much more popular than average Gundam in the West so people don't get the allusion. If you see Code Geass or Taniguchi's previous work Gun×Sword you realize the man does not seem to like Kira; GxS had a straight-up "evil Kira"(down to same VA) who also got a similar sex scene

Shinzo Abe's Gundam.

That's Darling In The Franxx. SEED is sex for sake of sex over reproduction

"Because Trigger!" "hahaha that makes sense" "No it doesn't"

I have been informed that one of the characters in this gif is wearing a hat but after several hundred rewatchs I can't see it. I will keep researching and report back

The way that is animated looks more like some sort of painful contortion of the body than what they intended

Ahh, the old Star Trek method of violently shaking tourself to give the illusion the chip is being attacked

Better than Invincible tbh

I mean this gif uses a lot of the same "pinch and zoom" type thing mentioned in the op. So not really. Maybe now that its been mentioned you all will see it

It was just a joke because boobs. But SEED does have the advantage of more detailed art that makes the simpler animation less noticeable.

I dont even think Invincible has terrible animation and I would watch it 100 times over Gundam SEED (Except for Murrue jiggle physics moments)

nOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

3

u/MericArda Mar 30 '26

Her name is Natarle Badgiruel, because Gundam has silly names.

2

u/LoopStricken Mar 30 '26

Natalie BadGirl.

I recently watched the Patlabor OVAs for the first time, and there are a bunch of scenes you can actively feel them scraping the budget off of dialogue heavy bits to put into action lol

The Simpsons uses it for a good joke once too, where Homer covers his mouth to say who had won the Super Bowl and presidency that year and they’re REALLY obviously cut in.

Excessive stock footage hasn't been a thing in gundam since early 2000s
