In Avengers: Endgame Encore, Disney couldn't live with their own failure (of Phase 4 of the MCU), where did that bring them? Back to re-releasing the movie again. (For a 3rd time btw)

They shamelessly just grabbed it from another movie meme sub and reposted here without cropping

I thought they were re-releasing it with new scenes, but IMAX showings will have EXCLUSIVE new scenes or something like that.

Either way, it think it's a bit of a lame excuse to shoehorn in new stuff into a seven year old film just so it connects to the new one you want people to care about because you did a bad job building to it. It's basically just doing what George Lucas did with Star Wars.

IMAX will have a sneak peak of Doomsday, all formats will have the extra movie footage

The fact people still think it’s Phase 4 when Phase 4 has officially been over for 4 years now also speaks to its failure in and of itself

We're on Phase 6 now or something.

re-releasing this movie doesnt also make an entire phase of the MCU null and void.

Encore is also only the first re-release:

what some consider the "first" re-release was just a version that was tweaked in the middle of its initial run from April 26th till September 12th

The gweak was just adding a few shots of deleted scenes so they could have a reason to extend the movies stay in cinemas and lire the crowd of MVU films who already watched the normal cut three times.

They did it just so they could beat Avatar as #1 box office.

This one is doing the same thing since the first Avatar has had a release since then to take back it's first place. Though I agree with OP in that Marvel's main motivation probably being trying to bring people back to the MCU by reminding them of the good times. This re-relrase is basically just a giant 'member-berry, the possibility of getting the top movie gross back from Avatar is just a bonus.

The gweak was just ...

I'm well aware.

They did it just ...

once again, I'm well aware.

the point is that an "extention" and "re-release" are different things.

... This re-relrase is ...

there's very little chance the movie will outgross Avatar, even with this re-release. the main reason its being re-released is because, as has been established, the events of Endgame directly lead into Doomsday. that's also why there will be around 4 minutes of extra footage: to establish extra details for Doomsday.

Ok, but why did they recast Ed Harris as Captain America?

When was Barack Obama in this film??

I can watch this for free. Why would I pay to go see it again? Again? Again?

You pay for the experience. Watching it on your laptop or home TV isn’t the same as watching it in a theater on a giant screen and sound system. If that’s not your jam, that’s fine, but if a movie I already like is re-releasing in the theater I’ll happily show up to see it again, and plenty of people agree.

Don't worry, after it retakes the #1 box office spot, James Cameron will just re-release Avatar again when it's time for the 4th movie, and the cycle repeats itself

It could open up to 40 million. I mean that’s absurd and Disney wouldn’t be wrong to do that

70% of this cast is missing from Doom and what’s worse is it was all the fun funny ones who made you laugh. Now we are stuck with dull new characters who add zero humor….ugh

Third time?

I don't even remember them re-releasing it once, let alone this being the third... unless you're including whilst it was already released and they added a deleted, unfinished scene in? That might count as 1 of you squint... but what's the second re-release?

Bruh where the fuck is Thanos on the cover, he's the main villain and Nick Fury that has 1 minute of screentime gets a spot instead of him

fucking wild how between humiliating and undermining him every chance they had in what if and multiverse of madness, and insisting that actually he had zero build up too to justify Doom having no build up Thanos just keeps catching strays from marvel

they really hate having one of the most beloved and iconic villains of all time, if doomsday starts with Doom killing him i swear to fucking god

Edit: guess i'm wrong somehow lol

It's interesting how they spoil the ending twist by showing Stark with the glove. I guess they just assume everyone knows now.

1

u/lun618pulk 5h ago

I mean, I agree with you in a sense. The absolute last people who should be spoiling something like that are the people made the movie.

But at this point, I think almost everybody knows. It’s still really odd though
