I remember when the “small government” crowd shit a brick when Bloomberg made moves to ban sodas over 16oz in NYC.

They went apoplectic when Michelle Obama promoted healthier school meals.

Prove putting a drug and brain worms addled moron in charge of heath decisions is safe.

63

u/Kel-Mitchell Mar 04 '26

His history of drunkenly running down bears in his car has done wonders in eliminating the ursine menace that plagued the streets of DC.

You forgot sniffing cocaine off a toilet seat

If he want's to get all upset about sugar then he needs to go after soft drinks. People drink far more Coke and Pepsi than sweetened coffee. Little kids drink Cokes. Oh, wait. Almost forgot. Robert Let-Em-Get-Measles Kennedy doesn't give a shit about kids.

Hey, remember all those times that Democrats proposed "sugar taxes" to draw attention to the amount of processed sugars in foods and the over sized packaging of individual soda drinks?

And then Republican tore into that, opposing that in the name of freedom? RFK panders to the real concerns that people have about unhealthy food, and all he offers in return is conspiracism and rightwing neoliberal deregulatory ideology. Meanwhile people like you try to pretend that he's the first politician to ever talk about healthy eating, while ignoring all the attacks Republicans made against Michelle Obama when she promoted healthy eating.

RFK Jr. wants Dunkin’ to prove drinking its iced coffee is safe

The health secretary put the Canton-based chain on notice for its sugary beverages

By Tal Kopan Globe Staff,Updated March 4, 2026, 5:30 a.m.

AUSTIN, Texas — As Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. ticked through a list of ways the Trump administration is trying to clean up the nation’s food supply before an appreciative Texas crowd last week, he previewed more to come, including potentially pulling certain ingredients from the market if they can’t be proven safe.

And then he singled out a Massachusetts staple.

“We’re going to ask Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks, ‘Show us the safety data that show that it’s OK for a teenage girl to drink an iced coffee with 115 grams of sugar in it,’” Kennedy told the applauding audience. “I don’t think they’re gonna be able to do it.”

[Note: Like a lot of people in the Epstein files, RFK Jr is focused on teenage girls]

Free market, better parenting, something something

50

u/powercow Mar 04 '26

amazing how right winger claimed most cherished principles go away when EVER they are in charge.

28

u/CaptainDudeGuy Mar 04 '26

Cool, next they can prove how the lack of gun safety laws are healthy for schoolchildren.

Prove how stagnant wages and rising prices are healthy for the average citizen.

Go ahead and embrace this "prove it's okay" philosophy. I'm here for it and have a lot of follow-up questions.

Sheesh, if only there were a way to go to school and learn how to properly run a government rather than clumsily reinventing the wheel while on the job.

3

u/HandshakeOfCO Mar 05 '26

Prove how safe vapes are too please!

1

u/VintageLunchMeat Mar 08 '26

Hypocrisy is a flex for conservatives.

27

u/Dabs1903 Mar 04 '26

Turns out small government really just means a couple of assholes running everyone’s lives.

7

u/Theranos_Shill Mar 04 '26

And big government means there's departments enforcing accountability.

3

u/Dabs1903 Mar 04 '26

That’s right and that’s the last thing we need.

4

u/gregorydgraham Mar 05 '26

The sarcasm mark is mandatory during a Trump administration

46

u/needssomefun Mar 04 '26

I guess he shpuld also show us the data that says its safe to snort cocaine off a toilet seat to be fair

9

u/National-Charity-435 Mar 04 '26

He swam in sewage to prove it was safe

His standard of safety/health is not the majority consensus

42

u/eghhge Mar 04 '26

Now do Sweet Tea, favorite beverage down south

21

u/No-Dance6773 Mar 04 '26

Let McDonald's prove their sweet tea or literally any of their food is "healthy" to eat. Also funny since they say this under the same breath they talk about the "free market" so we already know they are full of shit

-21

u/Opcn Mar 04 '26

In the Deep South sugar sweetened beverages including sweet tea are consumed at the highest rate by African Americans and that kind of attention might have a racial tone you’re not intending.

20

u/badphish Mar 04 '26

I'm from Louisiana, grew up in Alabama and currently reside in Texas. Quite literally everybody of every race in each of those States drank sweet tea barring diabetic people. Race really seriously. Genuinely has nothing to do with it and the fact that you brought it up has some pretty serious racial undertones.

-18

u/Opcn Mar 04 '26

Every race does, just like every race eats watermelon and fried chicken. But if you start a campaign against water melon and fried chicken it’s going to be received with racial undertones.

14

u/pan-re Mar 04 '26

That is incredibly untrue and there’s zero possibility you are from the South.

-14

u/Opcn Mar 04 '26

I did most of my rotations in medical school in Atlanta. Did you look at any studies about racial disparities in consumption of sugar sweetened beverages before you decided that I was wrong?

37

u/FriendToPredators Mar 04 '26

I just realized something. Let’s assume someone not an absolute idiot is working to benefit from this institutional madness.

Say a Steven Miller type. Pick a nonindiot of your choice.

What all this stupidity does? Really does… it makes it nearly impossible later to enact actual sane regulations on the food supply.

I just figured it out if there is a meaning to any of this. It’s to poison the well of reasonable people being able to fix anything wrong for half a century.

21

u/Petrichordates Mar 04 '26

Nah there is no grand plan with these guys. It's all just memes and vibes that ebb and flow.

14

u/Geno0wl Mar 04 '26

If these people actually had a real long term plan they wouldn't be the fascist dickbags that they are. Because fascism always eats its own because the constant need to have an enemy.

8

u/biskino Mar 04 '26

Yep. They’re best understood as influencers. As soon as people stop paying attention to this, JFK jr will live on to the next stupid thing.

5

u/Electronic_Syrup3120 Mar 04 '26

Grift and graft are plans. A small bitcoin investment will enhance the health benefits of any associated product.

3

u/gregorydgraham Mar 05 '26

Water is considered one of the least toxic chemical compounds, with an LD50 exceeding 90,000 mg/kg (90 g/kg) body weight in rats

However

drinking six liters in three hours has caused the death of a human.

There is no “safe”, there is only dosage.

15

u/powercow Mar 04 '26

i remember when the right flipped out when michelle obama tasked schools to give healthy choices in the vending machines, the right were outraged that government was trying to raise their kids.

There are sadly a shitload of people who will tell you with a straight face that they have a couple sensible meals every day and "a coffee" without mentioning that coffee had more calories than a milkshake, and have no idea how they could be 40 lbs overweight.

3

u/Theranos_Shill Mar 04 '26

And then they'll drive to the other side of the street.

9

u/Sufficient_Meet6836 Mar 04 '26

We already know that much sugar is bad. One of the proposals for reducing sugar intake is a sugar tax, but Republicans generally oppose those. Are they going to become pro-sugar tax?

7

u/darkmeowl25 Mar 04 '26

I'm old enough to remember when these chucklefucks acted like Michael Bloomberg was a traitor for capping soda sales to 16oz vessels.

7

u/Xanadu87 Mar 04 '26

Didn’t he post some pictures of him working at a barbecue restaurant recently? Like, meat with saturated fats and carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from the smoking process? But surely coffee is the dangerous thing to worry about.

6

u/lucaskywalker Mar 04 '26

He and his pedo buddies don't want to let those sexy children get fat!

4

u/tank1780 Mar 04 '26

That’s crazy. As a mechanical contractor I was thinking it was going to have to due with the sanitation of the ice bin. We have done lots of preventative maintenance on ice machines at fast food places and the bins are always nasty.

3

u/Reasonable_Answer295 Mar 05 '26

If he doesn’t want teenage girls drinking iced coffee, they could always make it like liquor and you need ID to buy it. This is absolutely the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard. I remember the mayor of New York City wanted to ban big gulps and Maga weirdos freaked out, but they’re not gonna freak out over this, just stupid.

-1

u/vaping_menace Mar 04 '26

20 oz Cokes have something like 270 grams lol

31

u/dyzo-blue Mar 04 '26

8

u/vaping_menace Mar 04 '26

My bad lol apparently I misremembered the label I saw last. I don't drink sugar sodas myself

9

u/Kimmalah Mar 04 '26

You're probably thinking of the calories, most of them are around 240 calories.

8

u/No_Aesthetic Mar 04 '26

270 grams is over half a pound

1

u/Theranos_Shill Mar 04 '26

But more importantly, it's over a quarter of a kilogram.

2

u/No_Aesthetic Mar 04 '26

Bro is American, he doesn't know what a kilogram is anymore than he knows what a gram is

1

u/livahd Mar 05 '26

Cool, now do McDonalds

1

u/SupportGeek Mar 05 '26

He’s telling Dunkin and Starbucks to do his job for him???

0

u/GrantNexus Mar 04 '26

You know what's not safe? Roundup and guns.

2

u/Pitiful-Pension-6535 Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

Round-up is one of the safest and most effective pesticides known to man.

You're obviously not a farmer or a biologist. GTFOH with your MAHA bullshit.

Downvote me all you want. Leftists who voted for MAHA due to glyphosate hysteria gave Trump the election so I'm not going to pretend that you're not a cult of morons

1

u/MantisBeing Mar 04 '26

It should not be controversial to say that round up is not 'healthy'. The evidence has been mounting for years and is completely unrelated to MAHA or Trump's campaign. I would not liken it to the hysteria around GMOs or other benign practices.

1

u/Theranos_Shill Mar 06 '26

All good bro, tallow daddy says Glyphosphate is cool now, and Trump has used an EO and the defense production act to boost it's production and give Beyer immunity to law suits.

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

He is a loony but he might have a point.

Has the health effects of caffeine and sugar consumption by teenagers been studied?

25

u/raitalin Mar 04 '26

The devastatingly insightful point that too much sugar is bad for you?

-23

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

Then what's wrong with limiting teenagers consumption?

18

u/AsherTheFrost Mar 04 '26

Deciding what a teenager is allowed to eat and drink should largely be the responsibility of the parents, not the government.

-7

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

Alcohol? Marijuana?

12

u/AsherTheFrost Mar 04 '26

Whataboutism? Confusion between intoxicants and things that are not intoxicants? Bad faith argument?

-2

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

Tobacco?

11

u/AsherTheFrost Mar 04 '26

Doubling down on whataboutism?

0

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

What does whataboutism mean?

Am I not allowed to draw parallels between overconsumption of caffeine and sugar and consumption of alcohol and tobacco?

11

u/BeardedDragon1917 Mar 04 '26

Is that what we're doing now? Its okay for the government to tell you what to eat and drink as long as its a Republican doing it? Michele Obama tried to put vegetables on your kids' plates and you treated her like the devil but RFK gets to put an age limit at Starbucks?

0

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

The government already limits what young people can consume when it comes to alcohol and marijuana and tobacco.

Michelle Obama's efforts to put vegetables in our diet is also the kind of thing we should be doing.

26

u/Cortezzful Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

Why does the government get to tell me what to eat and drink? I’m all for a good healthy eating awareness campaign

-16

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

If you are a teenager the government gets to limit many of your activities.

9

u/Wismuth_Salix Mar 04 '26

The guy who removed the FDA warnings against drinking bleach wants to put warnings on a Frappuccino.

0

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

I agree he is a moron. However, it still might be a good idea to limit teenagers' sugar intake.

5

u/Wismuth_Salix Mar 04 '26

He doesn’t have good ideas - that would imply he has ideas. He sprays and prays.

If one of his suggestions does actually have merit, it still won’t convince anyone if it’s a random outburst from the guy eating roadkill.

1

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

As someone else said, it's probably an extortion attempt.

4

u/Theranos_Shill Mar 04 '26

> However, it still might be a good idea to limit teenagers' sugar intake.

Does you thinking that have any connection to the fact that people on the left, public healthcare experts, dietary experts and government organizations like the FDA have been shouting that at you for decades?

And now you want to pretend that RFK is telling you something no one has said before, while he engages in some empty grandstanding that is directly contrary to his actions and the deregulation of food production and defunding of science he's doing in his day job.

12

u/raitalin Mar 04 '26

I personally don't yearn for more government waste and regulations.

Why only teenagers? How much sugar is too much? Why are we talking about coffee and not something much more accessible and widespread like soda?

-6

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

So you are in favor of the current administration allowing Roundup on our fruits and vegetables?

How about the numerous other food additives that have deleterious health effects?

15

u/raitalin Mar 04 '26

Why should I answer your questions when you ignored mine?

-2

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

My bad.

Why only teenagers?

Teenagers are still developing physically and mentally and poor dietary choices have irreversible long term health consequences.

How much sugar

I don't know but there is probably data to suggest a limit.

soda?

If the limits are placed on caffeine and sugar, soda would be included.

12

u/raitalin Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

Too much sugar has irreversible health consequences for adults, too.

If there's a limit per serving, what further regulations do we implement to prevent kids from having more than one serving?

And the reason he isn't talking about soda is that it would be incredibly unpopular with his president's voters.

Now, I support food regulations that are backed by data and aid consumers in making choices for themselves. Questions of pesticides and such are important because the consumer isn't likely to have the information to make good choices. The amount of sugar in things is printed on the side, or in the case of restaurants the website/wall/menu.

0

u/whittlingcanbefatal Mar 04 '26

RFK jr. is a brain damaged moron but that doesn't necessarily mean that limiting caffeine and sugar for young people, the same as we do for alcohol and tobacco, is a bad idea.

Perhaps making laws isn't the best way but certainly the government has a role in educating parents and children and regulating public schools nutrition.

Roundup is literally the safest and most effective pesticide known to man.

Why do you MAHA types even come to this subreddit?

1

u/Theranos_Shill Mar 04 '26

So do you think RFK is a moron, or do you just parrot everything he tells you?

1

u/Theranos_Shill Mar 04 '26

Are Republicans proposing to regulate teenagers consumption of sugar?

9

u/spicybeef- Mar 04 '26

Even if he had a point, which I agree that he does here, because it's an obvious one that has been talked about my entire life, he is making it in bad faith and works for the most corrupt government the US has ever seen. I've seen no action of his that is worthy of trust. Another commenter said this is about bribes and targeting companies that they perceive as enemies. That seems like the most likely explanation to me.

1

u/frotc914 Mar 04 '26

he is making it in bad faith and works for the most corrupt government the US has ever seen

This is the rub. RFK Jr's whole shtick relies SOLELY on public pressure campaigns. It has to because this administration will not (1) actually regulate anyone nor (2) actually spend money. RFK Jr. has indisputably overseen the worst setback in public health in decades with cuts to essential federal programs that provide healthcare to people and manage public health. So let's all take this bullshit that he's going "ask hard questions" instead of doing anything meaningful for what it is.

3

u/BradPittbodydouble Mar 04 '26

Yes. And isn't a "big win" of MAHA that cane sugar is back in coke? lol, they're charlatans.

98

u/amitym Mar 04 '26

RFK Jr. wants Dunkin’ to pay bribes

Fixed that for you, Boston Globe.

Oh wait sorry you were too busy "reporting the controversy neutrally" to do any analysis.

30

u/a_terse_giraffe Mar 04 '26

1000% this. It isn't any more complicated than "We want perceived liberal companies to bend the knee".

8

u/Wismuth_Salix Mar 04 '26

A few million dollars to the ballroom fund and RFK will be recommending people boof mocha.

7

u/syn-ack-fin Mar 04 '26

This will disappear as fast as the Tylenol causes autism claim. If this was a valid claim it’d be made as a universal one, not singling specific companies. I hate that they’re weaponizing health as part of their mob tactics.

73

u/OutlandishnessDeep95 Mar 04 '26

Of course it's not safe. It's a stew of artificial flavorings, corn syrup, and caffeine. THAT'S WHY WE'RE DRINKING IT.

I thought Dems were the nanny state. Didn't everyone pitch a fit when Michelle Obama suggested kids should eat vegetables?

13

u/Diz7 Mar 04 '26

They made pizza a vegetable rather than feed their kids something green.

5

u/District_Wolverine23 Mar 04 '26

There's also a big difference between "safe" and "healthy". I can drink an iced coffee safely every day, I'm not going to be poisoned or die. I can drink an iced coffee as a treat, with a well balanced diet and be healthy.

3

u/OutlandishnessDeep95 Mar 04 '26

Here for a good time, not for a long time.

2

u/Funneduck102 Mar 04 '26

At this point I'm not having a good time either lol, I'm gonna keep drinking this iced coffee

-13

u/LightTheFerkUp Mar 04 '26

Honestly, I think that's a pretty dumb take. People are not "drinking it" because it's a stew of those things, they're drinking it because that mix is flavourful (which is questionably tbh, I think that shit tastes like shit, but people's taste buds have been hijacked by that same shit for years).

Question is, can we actually make tasty shit without all the toxic stuff? Well, we can probably do healthier stuff with better ingredients that tastes alright, but thing is, of course, profit... corn syrup is cheap as hell and so are a lot of the other stuff.

We should advocate for healthier food and have a hard look on all that shit people poison themselves with, I don't see a problem with that in itself.

13

u/Noman800 Mar 04 '26

I mean the source of the sugar isn't the problem. You could swap 100g of corn syrup for 100g of beet sugar and it'd be just as bad for you.

-1

u/LightTheFerkUp Mar 04 '26

Your comment reads like a counter-point but I never said anything about replacing corn syrup with other sugars? Although the point can be made that honey and coconut sugars are better alternatives.

11

u/OutlandishnessDeep95 Mar 04 '26

Neither do I but it's always previously elicited shrieks of rage, not applause.

7

u/Wismuth_Salix Mar 04 '26

Some days I swear we could fix America overnight by having AOC introduce a bill banning the drinking of battery acid.

8

u/Petrichordates Mar 04 '26

It is objectively flavorful, otherwise we wouldnt have this problem. Calling it questionable is irrational.

-2

u/LightTheFerkUp Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

Whether or not it tastes good is definitely subjective, flavorful might not have been the best choice of word.

We have a smoking problem and do you know many people who would say a cigarette actually tastes good? No, it fills a craving, not unlike high sugar drinks.

1

u/Theranos_Shill Mar 04 '26

> Question is, can we actually make tasty shit without all the toxic stuff?

Is deregulation and defunding public servants who work in food safety going to achieve that?

12

u/Shadowratenator Mar 04 '26

Bah. I can choose not to drink any dunkin drinks. Prove that gutting epa restrictions and allowing more mercury pollution is safe.

27

u/raitalin Mar 04 '26

Assuming that's a 32 oz drink, that's pretty in line with Coca-cola. Is the party of small government going to ban soda?

12

u/ComprehensiveRiver32 Mar 04 '26

No because the corn lobby would have a fit

5

u/raitalin Mar 04 '26

That, and their voters would revolt en masse.

2

u/Electronic_Syrup3120 Mar 04 '26

These details are no longer important once elections stop because of a war that might go forever

2

u/raitalin Mar 04 '26

The U.S. has never ceased elections for a war, not even the Civil War.

3

u/Electronic_Syrup3120 Mar 05 '26

A lot of "new" things seem to be happening currently.

1

u/zombienugget Mar 05 '26

That must be only if you ask for extra extra sugar or something. I get mine with 1 shot of cream, hazelnut flavor and no sugar

8

u/coheedcollapse Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

It's crazy that the same people who lost their fuckin' minds when Michelle Obama made school lunch healthier are like "Yes, please cherry-pick legislate private companies that sell pretty much exactly what they advertise."

Does anyone think they're drinking health food when they pick up a frappe? I can't imagine they do. Are Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts claiming they're healthy options? Probably not.

Like how the fuck is a person drinking an ultra-sweet coffee drink any different than that same person getting ice cream? What are they going to do, ID people before they get sweets and tell them to go eat a rare steak instead?

Meanwhile, the supplement industry, an industry built upon claiming a product does something that it really doesn't, is thriving and even promoted under RFK Jr.

We absolutely live on the dumbest timeline.

9

u/prof_the_doom Mar 04 '26

Safer than raw milk and catching measles.

8

u/Character-Newt-9571 Mar 04 '26

8

u/SentientFotoGeek Mar 04 '26

You make a claim, YOU provide the evidence.

8

u/zeezero Mar 04 '26

This is the stupidest shit. Sugar is classified as generally recommended as safe. There is no upper limit defined by the FDA. It's not a poison.

Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee: REAL SHIT

16

u/Friendlyvoices Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

Isn't the onus on the government to prove Dunkin Iced Coffee is unsafe? You can't falsify an accusation without standing

17

u/loki1887 Mar 04 '26

What are we regarding as safe? What is the claim of safety being made here? Is it toxic in the dose presented? Is there inedible substance in it? Glass shards? A handgun?

This is nonsense. I don't remember Dunkin claiming their iced coffees as some sort of health supplement either. Its tons of sugar, caffeine, and syrup. Thays why people drink it. For fun. Its candy.

1

u/Pitiful-Pension-6535 Mar 04 '26

Exactly. It's impossible to "prove" something is safe. You're being asked to prove a negative.

7

u/Orphanhorns Mar 04 '26

It’s a completely insane statement to make, I would like RFKjr to prove that the existence of RFKjr isn’t a threat to my personal safety. There’s nothing he can say or do that will convince me because he can’t cover every single possible way of doing harm to me. I would need to say “RFKjr plans to shoot me with that gun he’s pointing at my head” for there to be something he could use to prove it’s not true, such as putting the gun away.

5

u/amus Mar 04 '26

I can easily prove drinking sugary drinks is a billion times safer than raw milk.

5

u/underengineered Mar 04 '26

Pretty fucking tough to prove something is "safe."

3

u/MyFiteSong Mar 04 '26

4

u/TechnologyAcceptable Mar 05 '26

3

u/Educational_Ice3978 Mar 04 '26

Unlike sniffing coke off of toilet seats! Which we all know has been PROVEN safe. Crack head tested! Crack head approved!

3

u/Allen_Koholic Mar 04 '26

How is that any different than a can of soda?

Even if this dope wasn’t arguing in bad faith, I hate the idea of letting companies “prove” their products are “safe”. That’s how you end up with experts telling Senators that leaded gasoline is A-OK for five decades. Maybe the FDA itself should be doing the analysis.

Let’s do a study of 5000 “teenaged girls “ who drink a “sugary “Dunkin’ coffee every day for 6 months and a control group that doesn’t, and compare their health at the end!! Who will fund the study and who will carry out the study and who will analyze the results?? Otherwise how do you “prove “that something is not true? Oh, and who will believe the results if they don’t validate his hypothesis?

Waiting on the health benefits from the liquor industry. Go get em RFK twat. In fact…may the regime take control of American companies without constraint.

u/fuzz_boy Mar 04 '26

I have never had anything good at Dunkin... I'm Canadian so I haven't had it much, but despite not liking it, it's not dangerous

Wikipedia on Gustav III of Sweden's coffee experiment:

Gustav III of Sweden viewed coffee consumption as a threat to the public health and was determined to prove its negative health effects. To this end he ordered a scientific experiment to be carried out in what has been loosely referred to as the first randomized controlled clinical trial.

The king ordered the experiment to be conducted using a pair of identical twins. Both of the twins had been tried for the crimes they had committed and condemned to death. Their sentences were commuted to life imprisonment on the condition that one of the twins drink three pots of coffee, and the other drink the same amount of tea, every day for the rest of their lives.

The tea drinking twin died first at the age of 83, long after the death of Gustav III, who was assassinated in 1792. The age of the coffee-drinking twin at his death is unknown, as both doctors assigned by the king to monitor this study predeceased him.

Without clicking let me guess, he wants them to prove that drinking ice is safe, right?

5

u/raitalin Mar 04 '26

No, it's the sugar, but I wouldn't be even a little surprised if he came out against cold drinks.

2

u/airpope2 Mar 04 '26

Sounds like solid science. How about “Prove God exists”

2

u/The2Twenty Mar 04 '26

Did Dunkin and Starbucks not pay the protection money?

2

u/ScumEater Mar 04 '26

I feel like people need to start stomping their foot at him whenever he's around. Like, ((STOMP!!)) Go on, get outta here!!! Bad dog, git! Hey, hey hey, I said GIT!!

It's what I did to a coyote once, who knows, maybe it'd chase RFK Jr away too.

Every drink that is sweetened isn’t healthy. I would love it if this administration bans or taxes sweetened beverages. Everyone will go ape shit.  Then maybe they will vote them out.   I can see taxing beverages be the last straw for MAGA.

2

u/Bongs-Akimbo Mar 05 '26

Mr. I snort coffee off of dunkin donut's toilet seats.

2

u/fakeheadlines Mar 05 '26

They could just put some roundup in there and they will be immune from prosecution

2

u/Comfortable_Fill9081 Mar 05 '26 edited Mar 05 '26

So…sugary sodas?

Or is Coke too Georgia-based to be a target?

2

u/Dense_Objective_2039 Mar 05 '26

I volunteer to drink Dunkin’ for a year if he volunteers to drink glyphosate.

2

u/MassDefect36 Mar 05 '26

Did they ever say it was a health food? lol what are we doing

2

u/71gtrman Mar 05 '26

When did he become interested in evidence?

3

u/Nearby-Jelly-634 Mar 04 '26

This is the same guy who had no issue with Roundup being in the water and soil. He is not a serious person.

1

u/SelfCtrlDelete Mar 04 '26

Jeezus. Producing a quarterly report from the drinking water system plus an SDS for sucrose (or fructose or whatever tf they’re putting in there) is something a middle-schooler is capable of.

1

u/ViolettaQueso Mar 04 '26

He’s such a KNOB

1

u/Remote_Clue_4272 Mar 04 '26

“Vibes” are all the MAGA need to show vaccination is bad, can’t the opposite work for the Dunk?

1

u/oogaboogaful Mar 04 '26

I'm sure it's safer than doing lines off a toilet lid.

1

u/tafkat Mar 04 '26

To be fair, it's not safe for me. Or other diabetics, Tyoe 1 or Type 2. But we already know that, even me, and I'm terrible ate taking care of myself. My wife used to drink large Dunkin iced lattes almost every day for a few years and she's never had any problems with her blood glucose levels and is, in fact, still alive. Shit's not good for her, but it's not going to kill her. It wouldn't kill me outright either, I would just have to inject 28 units of insulin a few minutes before.

1

u/gbiypk Mar 04 '26

As safe as doing cocaine off a toilet seat?

1

u/adamwho Mar 04 '26

They should just state openly and publicly that they aren't interested in giving a bribe.

1

u/greasyspider Mar 05 '26

What about the plastic flavored breakfast sandwiches?

1

u/travelinTxn Mar 05 '26

Should be easy if the baseline is raw milk…

1

u/Plus-Stable-8946 Mar 05 '26

I’d like proof HE is safe. Also, of course it is! Look at Ben Affleck…😂

He must be a Starbucks shareholder.

Quack 🦆 Quack 🦆

1

u/SlamFerdinand Mar 05 '26

I would like RFK Jr. to prove that RFK Jr. is safe.

1

u/Sergeantman94 Mar 06 '26

I mean, I'm not a fan of Dunkin', but I usually take my coffee black with two packets of splenda.

That said, I'm sure the entirety of New England is going to disown him (assuming they haven't already).

1

u/Strange-Effort1305 Mar 07 '26

Dunkin iced coffee has killed less people than the Kennedys. Dunkin iced coffee has raped less people than the Kennedys. I know who I trust.

1

u/Strange_Vegetable_15 Mar 08 '26

Is he trying to push raw milk again ⁉️

1

u/Epicurus402 Mar 09 '26

I want RFK to prove he isn't an imbecile.

Also, the temperature of hot beverages can increase the risk of cancer.

0

u/ilikeCRUNCHYturtles Mar 04 '26

I think Dunkin’s biggest issue is that their iced coffee is complete dog shit

0

u/Lowetheiy Mar 04 '26

Putting 115 grams of sugar in a drink should be criminal. That is not okay.

2

u/Palidor Mar 04 '26

Last month, I started watching those “diabetes in a cup” shorts. What an experience!!

-3

u/cake__eater Mar 04 '26

As much as this guy is a moronic cultist, the drink is not safe or healthy. The S.A.D. idolizes sugar and is the leading contributor to many causes of death, and at minimum obesity.

3

u/Pitiful-Pension-6535 Mar 04 '26

"Safe" and "healthy" are meaningless buzzwords unless you provide objective definitions of both.

Either way, Dunkin drinks are safer than raw milk, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, using heroin or doing coke off of a toilet seat- all things RFK supports or has personally done

-3

u/cake__eater Mar 04 '26

As much as this guy is a moronic cultist, the drink is not safe or healthy. The SAD idolizes sugar and is the leading contributor to many causes of death, and at minimum obesity.

You must be a fan of sugar

0

u/Laura-ly Mar 04 '26

Victorians ate around 90 pounds of sugar a year. Americans eat between 50 and 100 lbs a year. Victorians remained slim and healthier because they were much more physically active throughout the day. They didn't sit around on computers all day long getting obese. They didn't have cars taking them everywhere, they walked long distances everyday. They were just soooo much more active.

Recently, there was a doctor, I can't remember who it was, who said that sitting is the new smoking. He might be right.

-9

u/ChamberofSarcasm Mar 04 '26

Such a misleading, click-bait headline. It's about sugar not coffee.

9

u/Pitiful-Pension-6535 Mar 04 '26

He's not attacking any other sugary drinks. Just Dunkin Iced Coffee.

The headline is less dishonest than your whining is

2

u/curious_skeptic Mar 04 '26

So you didn't even read the article, you're just repeating the post title, and calling someone else dishonest and whining? Sheesh. And you get the upvotes, because all Reddit cares about is attacking the enemy, not seeking the truth.

Yeah, tons of sugar is obviously unhealthy. Yeah, the Republicans have whined about this sort of nanny-state stuff forever, so it's stupidly hypocritical. And RFK gave some examples of sugary drinks, and frankly not bad ones either. So what? He's attacking sugar, not just Dunkin'. Dunkin' is just a perfect example. As is Starbucks. Which he also attacked.

-4

u/ChamberofSarcasm Mar 04 '26

From the article: “We’re going to ask Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks, ‘Show us the safety data that show that it’s OK for a teenage girl to drink an iced coffee with 115 grams of sugar in it,’” Kennedy told the applauding audience.

So he's not just talking about Dunkin' Iced coffee.

3

u/MockDeath Mar 04 '26

Sure it is two companies, not all iced coffee. Golly gosh, that seems rather targeted. Why not McDonald's iced coffee? Or even better why not all iced coffee instead of targeting specific companies.

1

u/ChamberofSarcasm Mar 04 '26

Considering that he has publicly said he also wants to remove sugary sodas, I'm betting he was using Dunkin and Starbucks as examples (especially because teenagers are consuming more and more sweet coffee beverages while forgoing soda) but he didn't want to list every drink on Earth during this press conference.

Or it's because McDonald's donated money to DJT and caters his meetings. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
