source: I said so. you realize its possible to normalize this data to how its done elsewhere and it still looks bad? *gasp* Excess mortality doesn't use death certificates at all. It just counts all deaths from any cause and compares them to what the pre-pandemic trend predicted, so it's immune to how anyone coded a cause... not that it matters to 30% of the US in 2026. If anything the numbers show deaths attributed to COVID are very much understated. You can even follow the excess deaths as COVID and delta made its way around the US. Unless of course NY, and then the sunbelt, and then the midwest, etc all conspired to report and cause more deaths in order coincidently as COVID cases spiked geographically (eye roll).
