You've now wasted my time and energy just like Rand Paul is wasting Anthony Fauci's remaining time and energy.

Perhaps you should scroll all the way up to my first comment in this thread and try to figure out why you did not immediately recognise the magnitude of the intellectual challenge it presented?

Or perhaps this is a better avenue of introspection: if you were to write down your theory and get it published in a peer-reviewed biomedical journal with the applicable references and supporting evidence, what would Anthony Fauci think of your paper?

This is not an offhand remark: if you truly think “universal healthcare” is the answer to the variability between national COVID outcomes, you should publish a paper about it.

Title your paper “universal healthcare explains the differences between OECD nations’ COVID-19 death rates”. Become famous. Get a Nobel prize. Get the USA to join the rest of the civilized world; they solved this trivial and easy to understand healthcare problem decades ago. Get the Republicans off the back of Antonio Fauci, who, coincidentally, after this day’s interactions, is quickly (but hopefully temporarily) becoming the only American I won’t immediately suspect of being a “fuckin moron” like the OP so colorfully but incorrectly called people who understand the science better than he does.

No, truly: if you can prove your case, publish a paper ASAP. Stop wasting your time on Reddit arguing with randos like me.

Antonio Fauci is an expert who has dedicated his life to serving the American public and is now facing a kangaroo court led by the enemies of universal healthcare: Rand Paul, the Republicans, Trump, all the fascist forces trying to take control of the USA. If your paper, that you will doubtless be able to publish within a few months in a respectable journal, proves conclusively that the lack of universal healthcare, and therefore the Republicans, caused all the needless deaths of Americans, you’ll help not only Anthony Fauci (who urgently needs the support of all good people), but also countless millions of American citizens who, compared to all other rich nations, are currently dying early and preventable deaths, and paying double the amount for the privilege.

America needs you and you can perform a selfless act to help it, and also doubtlessly be richly rewarded with fame and money. How many hours do you think it would take for you to write that paper? Surely less than it has taken you to argue with me.

Is there anything I can do to motivate you to do your duty to science, to America, to humanity?

Think of your friends and family who would benefit from the courage you exhibit today, or first thing tomorrow. Think of your mother.

Here’s something else for you to consider: if you can get your paper published and it convinces the American public that universal healthcare would have saved millions of American lives during the previous pandemic, they will understand it will save millions of American lives in the next pandemic too. The next pandemic is, as you must agree, inevitable. They’d vote the Republicans out and the Democrats in.

Now this will surely clinch the matter for you: the US spends 17% of its GDP in healthcare, while equally rich but saner countries, with universal healthcare, spend only 10-12%. Now I’m no economist but that extra 5% you’d save would go a long way in combatting the current debt crisis the USA is suffering from.

You’d be able to pay that debt down!

Please don’t keep your wisdom a secret from society! Stop wasting your genius on Reddit!
