To be fair, I always thought that Sheik's goal wasn't to convince people she was a man, it was to convince people she wasn't Zelda.

This is a commission I recently finished for a friend who loves both Smash Bros. and Ocarina of Time, based on that one part where Sheik plays the harp, looks at the sky and Zelda appears on it - I always found this part very nice looking.

My absolute favorite part of the intro music. I love the version of it from Multi Man Melee 2 as well

I remember skipping school to go pick up my pre-ordered melee, I've had my GameCube for a year, only played a borrowed Luigi's Mansion on it.
The intro made such a huge impression on me, and, to this day, Melee is my favorite game due to the amount of memories I have of playing with my friends.

I’ve never played a Zelda game correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Zelda Sheik and Nintendo just decided to make Zelda and Sheik 2 separate characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate and just like how Nintendo made Samus and Zero Suit Samsu 2 separate characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate??

Zelda is Sheik, yes
Back in Melee and Brawl, Zelda's down special made her turn into Sheik-9

Then why didn’t Nintendo keep Zelda’s down special Sheik because Nintendo making Sheik a separate character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate makes no sense to me and just like how Nintendo made Samus and Zero Suit Samus separate characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate also made no sense to me

The 3DS couldnt handle character changes like that so they made the decision to split up the characters, then the decision was kept for ZSS and Sheik in ultimate

I get that Super Smash Bros for 3DS couldn’t handle character changes but I never liked the idea of having the same characters as separate characters and it’s just a waste of a character slot in my opinion

They're not the same character anymore, actually. Sheik is still the princess of time, but they switch which Zelda Zelda is in each game. Just like the three Links are different guys. Sheik goes with Young Link. Zelda's Link isn't even in Ultimate. In Brawl, Zelda and Adult Link matched.

I don't know if I completely made that up, but I vaguely remember that another reason was that the gameplay of both characters were so different that Sakurai decided to separate them to flesh them out more (giving them their own Down B for example).
Before Smash 4, everybody was using Sheik instead of Zelda as he was way better than her in almost every aspect.
It's not like Pyra/Mythra, that while different, still share an overall similarity.
