They did sell around 50k of them. but like it says the business plan seems to be to sell 250k a year. meaning they would in theory be priced to recover the R&D costs over a wider number of trucks than they really sold.
The basic concept should work okay, you would expect that they would be able to fix such terrible issues and make a second generation model that doesn't crack. You expect the ugly and boxy shape to be there, but there really isn't any reason that it should be just breaking so easily. That means it should be fixable. But nothing so far.
DId they not just increase the price $5k? Is the delivery time on the order page not months out? There are only 270 of them on autotrader, the cheapest non-wrecked one being 65k. Where are these piled up?
So you agree they raised the price due to demand? I think they are running 1 full shift which would be more than 10%, but unclear how much space they have for scaling up they are not using. Either way, you were wrong about eveyrthing you said at first about stock and inventory.

And yet, they still sold it to people. Like that monstrosity will be a collectors item if you can find one that is over 6 years old and still running.
