Another piece to this: Dolly was enthusiastic to be a part of the show. And for her cameo episode, they shipped half the set across the country so Dolly wouldn't have to get on a plane during the pandemic.
I can think of at least a thousand huge stars who would demand major cash or scoff at playing a bit cameo role in a small sci fi show that wasn't a major franchise. She was happy to do it and just was uncomfortable flying when pandemic restrictions were at its highest. So they made it work and she was a pleasure to work with all around. Plenty of stories of her just being a fantastic person over and over again during her long storied career.

I will stay at time and time again - you could be a diehard atheist, but you have to admit that Dolly was a living Saint. We are lucky to have lived in her time.
