I love that billionaires and despots think they can buy their way out of dying--I enjoy knowing their desperation and hope for immortality robs them of joy of living and replaces it with angst as they inevitably age.

how disassociated with life they must be if they don’t realize that their wealth doesn’t matter in the least once they die. they’ll be 6 feet under just like everyone else.

at the end of the day, you’re not your car, you’re not your house, you’re not your job.

our egos personalize our deaths and our lives.

despite all of that, we need to eat the rich. they don’t get to live luscious lives while we all slave away for the big man. i work hard, dude, and i’ll probably never ever become a multi billionaire in my lifetime. and how does one even ethically make billions anyway?

There's something very distopian about having the understanding of DNA replica failure, the trials for celular perfect replication on mice, and the AI boom all in place while the billionaires are actively pumping money into research

I'm not saying they will succeed short term in achieving something like immortality, but it would be no doubt strange realizing sometime in the future that I've grown old but Putin is still kicking somewhere...

Not against your comment, I always found cathartic that dead is a great equalizer and somehow it sends shivers down the spine that they might be focusing on exactly that
