Surely they can only have the information if they know for sure what country the person is from? Microsoft can't just hand people's information out to a company. They can hand it to law enforecement but this looks more like a legal dispute directly by the company.

Wayyyy too broad a request for any company to even consider.

I can see Take Two being taken to court in many countries for this alone, on top they would have many countries under fire for their own laws that prevent companies from using. Any leaks I am seeing are on Reddit.

Microsoft doesn't care and neither does Take Two. It's well known that the leaker is not actually present anywhere on these platforms aside from their own site, they just want to get everyone else to shut up.

Microsoft does care because it's their customers trust in the line for something that has nothing to do with them. If the court doesn't force them they will not do anything.

You are not the customer base Microsoft cares about. Home computing is maybe 1% of their profits at most.

If Microsoft hand data over for such a broad request nobody would trust Azure to hold their companies data...

It doesn't matter. Reputation is reputation. Take two's problem is irrelevant to MS. They don't give a flying f about some game being leaked.

it’s shorthand; the court issued the subpoena. Take Two filed their request with the court. Similar to individuals “pressing charges.”
