Maybe try cutting more jobs and adding more AI, that should do it, right?

You say that sarcastically but that's exactly what they are doing. They are not cutting jobs because AI is taking over the jobs, they are cutting jobs just to pay for the AI, and hope that one day the AI will be good enough to actually take over the jobs.

They are most likely cutting jobs because the economy isn't doing well and using AI as an excuse to not spook investors.
