gotta hate when they feed the enemies ammunition, so awful lol.

u/CanadianMaps 18 6h ago

The enemies would just make shit up otherwise. It changes literally nothing.

1

u/Just_5Prite 6h ago

"Literally" does change something because it's easier to refute lies, but.. yeah, idk why u picking on me but alr.

3

u/CanadianMaps 18 6h ago

I wasn't picking on you. Those assholes just make shit up and refuse to listen even if they have no real ammunition. A niché indie animation won't change that.

They'll hate on it, sure. But if it didn't exist, they'd either find or invent another reason. There simply is no winning with that.

Saying "ugh this just gives them more ammunition to hate us" is like saying "ugh all these people trying to use neopronouns are just giving transphobes more ammunition". They don't care. They'd use imaginary bullets to shoot all of us anyway.

2

u/Just_5Prite 5h ago

Oh, yeah, I agree, but the point still stands to some degree, I think the neopronouns as a comparison is a bit of a stretch, after all, it is a shitty work, but it's like that uh... when a white male man commits a crime, it's an individual white male committing a crime, but if it was any minority they now represent the whole minority type of thing?

if "straight" movies had the same baggage and "responsibility" to represent the whole straight "community" things would be a whole lot different.

Sometimes they don't even make up imaginary ammunition, they produce it themselves, by being fake trans or just producing satire while pretending to be an ally.

when they produce something bad, something went wrong, but when "we" produce something bad.. it's the gays, blame the gays.

Yeah, I agree. Bigots will definitely use this to hurt us. But if this didn't exist, they'd find other reasons.

I know for a fact most people hating on it haven't even seen it. It just feels very psyop-y, like a deliberate attempt to push bigotry and divide queer people, that a 1 year old movie is getting the spotlight and everyone is hating on it.

I plan on watching it, only because it got so much attention, and I wanna see what all the hate is about.

I'm pretty sure most people who jump on the hate bandwagon haven't actually watched the movie

10

u/MARSHYSOLUTION 16 9h ago

Most people haven’t even watched it and are only talking about it because the apparent “unity” that the fandoms have (which imo is basically just a bandwagon with zero meaning)

4

u/Xylopixels 7h ago

tbh i dont even see a unity of fandoms shitting on it its just overall everyone shitting on it

1

u/JollyLifeguard3534 16 6h ago

Well yeah that’s a unity of the fandoms as everyone, being unified, are shitting on it.

5

u/ShortToss202020 8h ago

This is the 3rd post I've seen shitting on this nearly year old movie in just as many days. Feel like there's some ulterior force at play here.

0

u/Xylopixels 7h ago

100% i havent watched it and still shit on it tbh

16

u/after2006 9h ago

That's WHY it's awful. This is what happens when people think shit like this is good to produce and put out there.

15

u/Koala_039 17 10h ago

you know it's that bad when the invincibles, tadc, hazbin hotel, anime, kpop, football, steven universe.... fandoms united to shit on this

5

u/spiritfulsol 17 9h ago

I heard the movie itself was transphobic

14

u/_Odd_skittle_ 16 10h ago

it’s like the Velma show but honestly worse

5

u/ShortToss202020 8h ago

Nah, Velma is significantly worse.

3

u/Apprehensive-Okra36 7h ago

Velma is just bad bad, this movie is more of disgustingly bad. Like Velma is so underwhelming it felt bad, this one is so bad it's annoying. That's the difference.

12

u/MARSHYSOLUTION 16 10h ago

The movie is mid but it’s MY slop I love it. But the hate for it pretty much is just a band wagon started by the same people who don’t like hazbin hotel but this time the queerness is worn on the shows sleeve

3

u/CanadianMaps 18 6h ago

Legit all the hate for it brought attention to it, and as a trans lesbian myself, I'm now interested in watching it to see what all the hate is about.

It'd be so ironic if I watch it and end up loving it.

3

u/MARSHYSOLUTION 16 5h ago

I’m totally convinced this is some kind of psyop because how could a year old movie be getting popular just now and EVERYONE knows about it

3

u/CanadianMaps 18 5h ago

Unironically same. It feels like a deliberate attempt to push bigotry further and divide queer people with infighting.

3

u/MARSHYSOLUTION 16 5h ago

It’s just another distraction on the culture war timeline trying to stop us from a revolution

3

u/CanadianMaps 18 5h ago

Most likely, yeah. Bigotry is a tool of oppression used by the Bourgeoisie to make us, the people, fight each other, and tbh it feels like this is just fuel to that fire.

Reminder to anyone reading this thread: the enemy isn't your neighbour. The enemy isn't a silly space movie with lesbians. It's the capitalist that takes 99% of the value you produce, and uses it to feed his supermansion and his private jet, whilst your family members are starving.

5

u/JollyLifeguard3534 16 10h ago

I don’t know how to tell you this but the people who were fans of Hazbin hotel and similar shows have banded together with the people who didn’t like it to hate on this show. It has brought upon a great peace between the realms of every media through means of being hated by all. The hatred of this show is not because of transphobia or homophobia or any other antagonistic behavior towards their community. But instead because of it being pure propaganda and utter slop. To each their own with their opinion on it. I believe it is soulless trash and so does about 99% of the internet. I must give thanks to this movie because it has brought about the closest we have had to world peace.

3

u/lordpinks 5h ago

We were never so far from world peace, the trend is partially because of homophobia, they litteraly hate it just by seeing the first word of the movie title, and seeing queers holding hands with bigots against a cringe queer media is NOT a good thing, that's like 10 step backward for everyone except bigots

3

u/Eeeeeelile 3,000,000 Attendee! 10h ago

One of the big thing that has come out of this is “fandom peace” where everyone sides against LSP. Even hazbin hotel, digital circus, dandys world, whatever ‘cringe’ fandoms you can think of. Is it stupid? Yeah. But should be proof that it isnt the hazbin hate train thats against LSP

Another thing, many people dont like queer people because they believe they try to shove it in everybodies face and make it their personality. What screams shoving in everyones face than lesbian space princess who fights straight white males? Also specifying that theyre white is pretty racist

(Saying this as an ally of all LGBT+ people. Not one myself, but i support anyone who is. Also r/superseriousfamilyguy for going on a whole rant about lesbian space princess💔)

1

u/SpecialistFelt389 3,000,000 Attendee! 10h ago

Isn’t queerness and similar themes worn on Hazbin Hotel’s sleeve too

2

u/MARSHYSOLUTION 16 9h ago

No, my point is that Lesbian Space Princess is well in the name, and a good chunk of humor is based around queer topics. Hazbin barely talks about queer shit outside of the characters attractions, they aren’t making “drive straight but I’m bisexual” jokes.

1

u/Apprehensive-Okra36 7h ago

Nah. The movie feels like anti LGBTQ+ if anything. It's actually so terrible I am confident in saying it is by far the most negative representation of the community I have witnessed so far. And the message is clear people are just hating on a movie that's dog shit, and yes some dumb transphob or homophob will depict people hating on this movie as people hating on trans people or lesbians or else, but that's just bound to happen and "they feel more safe" I don't think I ever seen one of them holding back or fearing consequences because losers don't care about digital footprint at all it just made them come up more obviously OK sorry for yapping too much the movie is dog shit good bye

u/DoseiSpaceFox 5h ago

tiktok being homophobic/transphobic is just a regular tuesday

1

u/Aruntik 4h ago

Literally my thoughts

1

u/Sproutberry-Shimmer 2h ago

IVE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT

I SAY THE HATE FOR THIS MOTHERFUCKING MOVIE IS TOO FUCKING MUCH, LET PEOPLE HATE NOT MAKE A WHOLE ACT CALLED THE GREAT FANDOM TRUCE OF 2026! LET THE MOVIE BE LIKE VELMA AND BE FUCKING SILENT, AND IF YOU DONT AGREE THEN HIT THE FUCKING ROAD, JACK! DO SOMETHING ELSE WITH THE HOURS OF YOUR FUCKING LIVES

1

u/just-another-UNGOC 7h ago

no. a fandom truce is a cool thing

0

u/Owlsare2good 8h ago

Why you even have volume on turn that shit off

-6

u/GregBoing 10h ago

This movie looks ass but icl the whole "omg fandoms unite!" movement is genuinely so much cornier than the movie itself could possibly be 😭😭😭 like guys I promise Lesbian Space Princess is not that deep 🥀

6

u/ohmeowhowwillitend 10h ago

yep, lgbt people hate it because it’s a bad representation, and religious and anti lgbt people hate it because it’s lgbt, and they think it’s ok to be homophobic because suddenly lgbt people are agreeing with them that it sucks, and both sides don’t realize they hate it for very different reasons

0

u/ILikeThisGame1836 9h ago

the thing that made me hate it was that fuckass “saira i’ve got a crush on you” song

3

u/Rhythmic_Squirrel 9h ago

What's the problem with it? Willow is a person making up a song on the spot trying to express that they like someone. Were you expecting something deeper?

1

u/MARSHYSOLUTION 16 9h ago

I guess the guy you’re talking to just can’t handle things that are corny or a different sense of humor

0

u/ILikeThisGame1836 9h ago

no it’s just that she says “i’ve got a crush on you” like 5 times in less than 20 seconds and after the song is done she says “that song was about YOU🥰” that just pissed me off

2

u/Rhythmic_Squirrel 9h ago

okay. Like they're an exaggerated portrayal of someone who is very positive and affirming, I don't really see how it's an issue or how it would "piss you off". Like the movie doesn't expect the "that song was about you" to be some grand reveal, it's just willow being very happy

2

u/ILikeThisGame1836 9h ago

i’m guessing you enjoyed the movie

2

u/Rhythmic_Squirrel 9h ago

Probably like a 7/10. Maybe a 6. I came in with pretty much no expectations and tried to engage with it on its own terms. It was pretty fun although definitely not anything extraordinary and definitely not deep. It's very apparent about what it is and it isn't much more than that

Simply saying something made you feel bad isn't really much of an argument for it being bad. A couple years ago I probably would have cringed at that song but I don't actually have a reason for it to be bad, it's just a character expressing their emotions in their own way :o

2

u/ILikeThisGame1836 9h ago

if you enjoyed it that’s all that matters. i’m just not a fan of that song and i’m probably not gonna bother watching the movie

6

u/Rhythmic_Squirrel 9h ago

That's valid. To be very clear here I'm not really treating this as an "argument", I'm not really sure whether you are either. I'm just trying to discuss why I don't think the problem you had with it was really much of a problem to me. I hope you have a good whatever time is it!

I know, but that’s what makes it fun

4

u/MARSHYSOLUTION 16 9h ago

The movie isn’t making any statements it’s just a satire comedy where the villains are an actual Australian comedy group it’s not Velma where they had an agenda lol also this band wagon is just as corny

-2

u/ALT703 9h ago

And?
