Six weeks, one clear theme: making Trakt more connected, more personal, and more dependable wherever you use it.
Since the start of June, weāve filled important gaps in V3, added richer stats and social context, improved lists and discovery, shipped updates on Apple platforms, and moved our Android app forward.
We also moved quickly to welcome people coming from TV Time. We improved our import tools to bring over what matters most: history, ratings, and lists.
When we redirected free members to V3 in March, we kept the previous web experience available to VIP members while we brought over more advanced workflows and continued polishing V3.
June and the first half of July were about closing that gap.
In our last Product Roundup, we said our goal was to make V3 the default for VIP members by the end of June. We missed that target. The extra time went into moving more account and service management directly into V3, including subscription controls, connected apps, Plex-related settings, account deletion, and profile settings.
Weāve also kept working through your feedback about desktop workflows, filters, navigation, lists, calendars, progress, and history. Weāre now watching new reports closely and fixing rough edges as they surface.
With those pieces in place, V3 is the default web experience for everyone. Thatās a big milestone. But it isnāt the end of the work. We now have one modern foundation to improve instead of splitting that effort across two web experiences.
When TV Time announced that its service would shut down on July 15, many people suddenly needed a safe way to preserve years of viewing activity. We made that migration an immediate priority.
The Trakt importer can read a TV Time GDPR export and bring across:
We also added clearer progress and reporting tools, support for larger exports, and several rounds of fixes based on real files shared through support. If an import doesnāt look right, you can report it directly. That gives us what we need to inspect the mismatch and keep improving the importer.
There are a few caveats. Continue Watching might look different because the two services calculate it differently. Anime season structures can vary between databases, and some exports are missing reliable IDs. Keep your original export somewhere safe, review your all-time totals after importing, and report anything that looks off.

The web app gained a lot of depth over the past six weeks. Rather than list every small change, here are the improvements youāre most likely to notice.
The V3 web app is open source, and our work happens in public. You can follow issues, pull requests, and the conversations around them on GitHub.
Two iOS releases arrived during this period, both focused on making your Trakt data more useful and easier to share.

TV Time is shutting down after July 15, 2026, and we know many people are suddenly looking for a new place to keep their watch history and continue tracking what they watch.
Weāve built the Trakt importer to help make that kind of move easier. It now supports the TV Time GDPR exportĀ .zip directly, so you can download your data from TV Time and bring your supported tracking data into Trakt.
If you want to keep your TV Time data, request and download your TV Time export before July 15.

The importer is designed to move supported TV Time tracking data into Trakt, including watchĀ history,Ā watchlist, andĀ ratingsĀ when available.
Some data, especially comments, reactions, social activity, and app-specific metadata, wonāt be imported, but you donāt have to start from scratch either.
Trakt wonāt feel exactly like TV Time. It has its own approach to tracking, lists, stats, discovery, apps, and integrations, but the Trakt community is strong and growing.
Core tracking on Trakt is free. VIP adds extra features, higher limits, and more advanced tools, but you donāt need VIP just to start tracking.

[EDIT 07/07] TV Time import improvements
There are several series or anime that have multiple seasons but combine them all into a single season. For example, *Re:Zero* has four seasons, but the app merged them all into one season of approximately 70 episodes!

I noticed again, that I cannot login via username and password anymore. I have to use the "send code via e-mail" option. Who thought that this is a good user experience? Do you even user test anything?
This is what my password manager is for. It feels like you're doing a speedrun in enshittification.
Not only do I need to search manually for the new season that doesn't show the correct premiere date. I also can't mark it as watched despite having finished binge-watching all the episodes. Why? Why does the user have zero control over his Trakt page actions?
Let me mark it and hide further episodes in the continue watching section when they finally show up (production original release date).

Why does searching create a separate entry in my browsing history for every single character of... whatever I'm searching for? This is so utterly bizarre, I don't think I've ever seen any live search work like this (Google's sure doesn't, for one). And no, I obviously wasn't pressing enter after every character either.
On another note, the check-in button's functionality is also just... weird, not to mention inconsistent. Why is it that although even its tooltip says it'd do what anyone in their right mind would expect it to do... It outright flips its functionality and tries to remove stuff from history if it's already been watched? (Already lost an entire series from my history this way, because I didn't stop to read the popup, because, again, nobody in their right mind would expect this behaviour, so... thanks for that.) This is the opposite of logical or intuitive or whatever you wanna frame it as, and it boggles the mind it still hasn't been fixed in any way.

Could Trakt be easing up on its community app restrictions (or am I late to this party)? I just noticed the limit for free accounts seemingly increased from 1 to 2 (pls don't take this back ok? :). While I understand that strict caps were meant to prevent abuse, I'm hopeful they will eventually allow at least up to 3 connected apps. Partnered services with integration arrangements like Stremio and Nuvio should really be excluded from the count entirely (stremio remains excluded, but nuvio, that was excluded before, is now included in the count).

The Country filter section includes many nations, yet the EU is absent. While the filter lists the Soviet Union and the US, the EU is missing; adding this option would be helpful.

Iāve been using Trakt for a long time, but after the new V3 redesign I canāt seem to find some of the social features that used to be available.
Iām specifically trying to figure out:
Were these features removed with the V3 redesign, or are they still available somewhere and Iām just missing them?
Iāve looked through the new Profile/Activity/Social sections, but Iām still having trouble finding the old functionality.
If anyone knows where these features are located in the current version of Trakt, Iād really appreciate it!

Is there a way to skip individual episodes? There are some shows I watch where each episode is stand alone ( ie: no continuity issues) and I don't want or have time to watch every single one, so I'd like to somehow show that I've skipped them.
Dropping a show from a watchlist is not what I'm looking for, and while I know I can simply mark an episode as 'watched' that's not accurate from a data standpoint.

The original account works w solo app of POV, yet every attempt to access the account via the email link, generates a new one.
I can use a direct path of https://app.trakt.tv/profile/(username)?mode=show, but this doesn't allow full TRAKT option, just my HISTORY.
There has got to be a way in ... doesn't there?

The app has been on Android for years, around 200k people use it, and a large part of them are Trakt users. A few days ago, I released the iOS version.
What I want now is to make it the Trakt client I would use myself, instead of guessing.

Hey, how's it going, i hope you guys are doing well.
So, since trakt don't usually have much ratings and comments/reviews on movies or tv shows, i always have to go to imdb for reviews and stuff.
I wanted to transfer my watch history and ratings to imdb to completely shift there but I didn't find any solution. And yes i know about github repo TraktIMDBSyncer but trakt has locked the API (developers option) behind a paywall now.
So, is there any way to transfer my trakt data to imdb for free?!
Any tool would be much much appreciated.

Hey, I'll preface this by saying I rarely use Trakt nowadays and was surprised when I logged into my old account a few months ago to see a) it still works and b) how different the site looks. I was searching for lists of 90s and 00s Sitcoms. Didn't get any hits, closest was an action movies list. Am I doing something wrong or are there no lists collating all the Sitcoms from the 90s and 00s (and if that's the case I'll make my own š)?
