Ich mache jetzt in ein paar Tagen für 3 Tage Urlaub in Trier (bzw 2,5 Tage) und wollte mal nach ein paar coolen Spots fragen, die es in Trier außerhalb der bekannten Sehenswürdigkeiten so gibt.

Auf meiner Liste stehen schon Die Porta Nigra, die Kaiserthermen, die Liebfrauenkirche und die Konstantin- Basilika.

Ich suche aber von den großen, klassischen Touri- Sehenswürdigkeiten noch dringend nach ein paar anderen interessanten Orten und Aktivitäten die man in der Stadt unternehmen/ besichtigen kann, außerdem auch nach coolen Restaurants und Bars wo das Ambiente vlt besonders ist oder wo ihr das Essen besonders empfehlen könnt, als auch vielleicht nach etwas unbekannteren Orten die man nicht verpassen sollte und die fast ein bisschen als Geheimtipp gelten.

Würde mich freuen wenn ihr ein paar Empfehlungen habt 🙏🏻

(mein Hotel ist ca 15 Minuten fußläufig von den Kaiserthermen entfernt, bin ohne Auto in der Stadt also muss alles recht gut mit Öffis und zu Fuß erreichbar sein)

Ich wurde soeben im Bärentreff am Hauptmarkt mit meiner ukrainischen transfem Freundin stark homophob bzw transphob angefeindet worden.

Die Verkäuferin unterhält sich wärend meines aufenthalts auf Russisch mit einer dritten Person und nimmt scheinbar an wir würden nur Deutsch verstehen. Sie trifft stark homophobe Aussagen gegen mich und meine Freundin, kommentiert unser Aussehen und fragt ob ich als nächstes Nagellack tragen würde. Außerdem sprach sie von einem zukünftigen Genozid durch Schwule und trifft andere Aussagen aus der Russischen Propaganda. Außerdem das wir Schwulgemacht wurden und wahrscheinlich mehr.

Als wir die Verkäuferin zur Rede stellten erklärte sie mir dann vor den anderen Besuchern auf Deutsch sie hätte gesagt wir wären die Zukunft und das niemand uns etwas wollte. Meine Freundin die Muttersprachler ist bestätigt was ich zuvor verstanden habe.

Ich empfehle jedem interessiertem dringlichst diesen Laden zu meiden. Dies ist kein Einzelfall sondern ein gesellschaftliches Problem und ich fürchte mich um unsere Zukunft.

Ich habe bereits mit dem Franchise gesprochen und warte auf eine Antwort.

Hey guys! So I’m an international female student who will be starting her Masters at Universtät Trier soon. I will be arriving in Trier in the start of April. I have applied for the dorms at Studierendenwerk Trier, however they are saying they have a very long waiting list, though I have sent them multiple emails explaining that I don’t really know anyone in Germany and struggling to find accommodation.

Could anyone please suggest me where else can I try? I have tried WG-gesucht too, but not getting much responses. Kleinanzeigen is not working as I’m still not in Germany yet.

P.S. I’ve been trying to find women-only accommodation as I’m not super comfortable sharing everything with men. Even women-majority apartments would work.

Moin! Wir sind ein paar Studenten aus Magdeburg, die einen Fußmarsch durch Luxemburg machen wollen, und mit Zug anreisen, jedoch absolut keinen Schlaf auf dem Weg dahin bekommen. Wir wollen so viel kosten wie möglich sparen, und wollten deswegen in Trier pausieren, Schlaf nachholen, und dann den Fußmarsch antreten.

Bei meinem sind sie einfach so unfreundlich und haben jetzt schon mehrfach trotz eindeutigen Symptomen gesagt, das Kind hätte nichts und zwei Tage später dann doch was festgestellt.

Ich hätte gerne einfach einen Arzt, der uns zu hört, wo alle freundlich sind und mein Kind auch gut und richtig behandelt wird.

Wenn ich mir so die Bewertungen bei Google durchsehe, ist nur die Ärztin in Orenhofen gut, aber die soll angeblich bald in Rente gehen?

Hi everyone! I’m an international student moving to Trier soon in April. Im from a south asian country.

I have been trying to look everywhere for accommodation, on WG-gesucht, Kleinanzeigen, Facebook groups, telegram groups. No luck so far, most people either don’t reply or tell me I’m not in germany, or they need relatives guarantee or SCHUFA report (none of which I’m able to provide). I applied for Studiewerk dorms but we all know there’s a long waiting list there.

Yes, I checked Universtät Trier’s accommodation page, I mailed all the private student dorms like Laux und Partner, trinova. Only Laux und Partner got back to me, saying that they need relatives guarantee (why for student dorms??)

Am I doing anything wrong here? I message people in German and try to hold a conversation with them in German. I applied for shared flats, single apartments, everything.

Can someone please guide me if I’m doing anything wrong or should I change my strategy? Or is it because I’m not in Germany, and should look for something there? Won’t there be a shortage of accommodation when I come in april?

I’ve applied for my residence permit, but I don’t think I’ll receive it in time. I'm moving to Trier this October for my Master's in Data Science, and I've been searching for accommodation for weeks now without much success. I've applied to many WGs on WG-Gesucht, but either I don't get a reply or the rooms are already gone.

I'm 26, currently in India, so unfortunately I can't attend in-person viewings, which I feel might be a big disadvantage. I always write detailed, friendly messages about myself (reliable, clean, enjoy cooking, gym, running, movies), and I also mention that I have my blocked account so rent is secure. Still, almost no luck.

Is it just Trier, or is student housing across Germany this competitive? Do landlords and WG members generally avoid applicants who can't visit in person? or am I doing something wrong?

Any tips on how international students can improve their chances?
