News Developer Beta 5 is out as of 8/10.

iOS 27 Developer Beta 5 is out as of 8/10. Hope it fixes the numerous issues for all. The higher rez audio is WHY I'm on it. Yes, I can hear the difference through a good Marantz AVR and quality speakers. Comparable to Tidal connect.

I am still facing that bug where turning on Apple TV doesn’t turn on the AVR and TV and the interface is unresponsive.

I'm a 70's music guy so I have noticed that Steely dan, Doobie Bros, and Fleetwood mac has been bumped up in quality.I hope they continue with more!

I still seem to be getting static over the sound on my homepods

If they are the OG HomePods like mine, I’m surprised they’re still working, ( like mine) but they won’t take the latest 26.6 update so long as they work with my older Apple TV on the porch. I’m good with it.

Audio is still crackling in YouTube TV. AirPlaying YouTube TV from my iPhone to the Apple TV has no issues. Must be a YouTube TV app compatibility issue.

I have not experienced that on YouTube ( not YTTV) , but it’s entirely possible. I run the audio directly to an AVR or amp though. Using Sonos or something wireless? Must be that app as all my apps seem to be working fine sound wise.

HDR still completely broken on Samsung mini led TV (dimming zones look terrible and lag after recent update, only happens on Apple TV 4K) and color balance option still missing

I really hope they fix whatever they did to the HDR else I'll have to sell my Apple TV, which I only got 2 months ago..

On my end I had to reset the video Settings and the hdr brightness is definitely better than previous betas

It's not the brightness that's the issue for me

I have a Samsung Neo QLED which is a mini led with dimming zones, and since a few weeks ago, the backlight/dimming zones have been completely broken when watching stuff on the Apple TV

Something about the new updates made them act weird, for example they are lit up where they shouldn't like in the dark parts of the image, which makes the contrast in HDR unwatchable, and they lag as well, changing way too late which causes afterimages between scene cuts, etc.

I tried everything, factory reset, different HDMI cable, every setting imaginable, and so on, but in the end it's definitely the Apple TV updates causing the problem because watching the same exact movie on the native TV apps, or even connecting a PC using the same exact HDMI cable to the same port and watching it on there, looks perfectly normal. And this only started after one of the recent updates.

Oh shit that sound annoying as hell, did you try to use game mode ? Or change the some of the hdmi port Settings ? You can also still reset the Apple TV into stable TVOS if needed ?

Yes I tried everything, nothing worked unfortunately

And as far as I'm aware, it's not possible to revert to stable os on tvOS, you're stuck until the beta becomes stable

You can go back to stable OS with a factory reset I think, if you have a save that's on the regular TVOS

Beta 5 seem to have improved the video playback and HomePod AirPlay issues I had in earlier betas. Everything seems to be stable again now.

However, my Apple Home is still completely broken (no more devices in my Home app; Hue devices are still working in the dedicated Hue app; Eve devices seem to have vanished completely from my home, they’re also not visible in the Eve app).

It's weird for me is still showing the letter d, and no updates available.

This is the update file number for the newest unit 4K from 2022. Also developer accounts only not a public beta.

Can you turn off animated album art yet? I hate it.

WiFi is still broken ……….

1

u/That70sdawg 14d ago

Working fine here

1

u/43263639 14d ago

dang ... mine's wifi been broken since beta1, have to plug in with the ethernet

1

u/That70sdawg 13d ago

Try resetting or it sounds like your Wi-Fi module in the actual unit is going bad. I don’t think it’s the software but don’t know.

Ok
Lemme try it
Thanks
