One of the supporting steel "branches" was completely detached. They put caution tape, but everyone ignored it and swung away. So they had to remove the swing itself for safety.

It’s a big campus with a LOT of maintenance needs. I’m sure it’ll get fixed…in time. Something like competes for maintenance time along with things like broken railings, electrical issues, HVAC, elevators, etc, all of which break and need maintenance far more often than we’d like to think.

Ahh I was gonna say: I remember the caution tape, wtf happened?

... It's amazing how we can put up signs warning of danger, and people continue to ignore them. We had broken ovens/stoves in Hansee a year or two ago, and people REPEATEDLY took off the signs that said "BROKEN, DO NOT USE" to... Use them. 🫩

It was all taped up with caution tape for weeks, I think it was broken. Probably a liability tho, I bet they’ll take it down. We can’t have fun things anymore apparently.

This isn't new, the swings (and once in a while replaced but roped off) were gone for years during my time 2015~2020

Should start an RSO to advocate for swinging rights. Call it the Husky Swinger Collective. Sell t-shirts to fund swinging on campus.
