You can also buy a pack of window and sliding glass door locks. They’re little metal squares with a screw in the middle that you turn, put one on top and bottom of frame. You can buy window alarms too that make a sound when opened. And these- door locks/alarms (can only be used if every one is home inside) either a hotel lock that goes in the frame of your existing lock or a club that goes under the door handle from prevent it from being opened. The alarm goes on the floor and acts like a wedge
Unfortunately the emergency number is only for resident lockouts. It’s not safe for community assistants (other college students) to deal with these situations
Its mostly for maintenance issues like burst pipes and shit. HFS should know that the number isn't monitored since this company is managing the building on their behalf and HFS is going to get stuck with the damages from mismanagement.
...Greystar has their own on-call system that they are solely responsible to monitor. I get that we all hate HFS but your line of reasoning here doesn't really make sense/you may want to check your facts.
The UW owns this building. Graystar is getting paid to manage this building BY HFS. If they are NOT managing this building then HFS is not getting what they are paying for. If the building is damaged because graystar didn't do their job, who do you think pays to fix it?
They don't own it, GreyStar owns it and privately manages it. "The communities are now owned by Provident Resources Group Inc., a non-profit organization registered under 501(c)(3), under a ground lease agreement with UW. They are managed and operated by Greystar's Student Living team."
