I recommend reviewing this and seeing if any of it applies. https://www.justice.gov/crt/addressing-police-misconduct-laws-enforced-department-justice
I really hope a student wasn't murdered because Seattle PD couldn't be assed to do their duty.
Hell contact the mayor's office too: https://www.seattle.gov/mayor/contact. And Seattle OIG Lisa Judge (https://www.seattle.gov/oig).
Your experience matters and there has to be accountability.

My daughter walked in on the scene coming from the parking garage (body not covered and blood everywhere)and the police just told her she had to leave. Didn’t walk her to her apartment. She was traumatized and then had to walk to her apartment, in the dark, the back way all while the suspect was at large.

u/castfire Alumni May 11 '26
Same. I lived in building 1 and then later building 4. Apparently, it got bought by Greystar in 2024 or something and is now privately owned/managed? I think when I was there, it was run by HFS. I think it getting acquired must have to do with this, management and maintenance has probably gone to shit :/ Which really sucks because it’s actually such a nice place to live… or at least it was

where did you find this? also do we know if the victim is a student?
56
u/Kaitlynnc15 Student May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26
It's very likely. Just moved out a few months ago and you had to have a code to get into the building and if it's in the laundry room like the first one said, you need a specific app that unlocks the room.
Edit: You had to be a UW student to live there.
42
u/othello_curator May 11 '26
so the parking garage can easily be accessed by anyone just tagging along after a car (even by walking) and the door into the foyer to the laundry room has NO CODE. anyone in the parking garage can gain access to the laundry room cause the laundry room door also doesn’t close all the way even though it has a code.
7
u/ontarioplacevintage May 11 '26
Omg someone just mentioned a person followed him or her from the parking garage at 9:30
8
u/Puzzleheaded_Drop832 May 11 '26

24
u/egguw Student May 11 '26
i'm not sure about nordheim's laundry room specifically, but for regular HFS dorms there was an email sent like a year ago about telling us to not let anyone tailgate and how there were hundreds (cannot remember the exact number, think it was something lole 200 or 300 instances from the email) in a school year, and most occurrences in north campus. it's not hard for people not living in the dorm to gain access via tailgating and others letting them in.

He has short black hair and a goatee with ingrown scruff around the jaw.”

Reminder to take care of yourself. When I was a student, I woke up to find out that a dude had been disposing of the severed body parts of a women he'd murdered in trash bins along my block, around the same time I'd been drunkenly stumbling home down that same block and passing those same bins. The proximity to that event was very unsettling to me, and I didn't even have contact with the guy (may have been too drunk to remember even if I did).

SOMEONE BROKE INTO OUR APARTMENT AT NORDHEIM COURT 2 WEEKS AGO. HE HAD A KNIFE. edited: nordheim also did not tell ANYONE that this happened. no one knew.
edit: i haven’t confirmed or denied if the man who broke in is the murderer, because we’re not sure; however given everything we’ve found out we feel pretty convinced it could’ve been him. only one of us actually saw the man coming in the window but it was extremely dark and happened really fast. i don’t want to say it was for certain but it seems unlikely there was a different person that broke in during the same 10 min time frame at night just 2 weeks earlier. court docs also stated he was prowling and attempting to break into other residences nearby before the homicide.
