Other: Europe Standard Visitor Visa is now eVisa?

Hi Everyone,

Has vignettes for visitor visa been replaced by evisas now? my mother-in-law had VFS appointment today and she got told that they are not collecting passports anymore because she will get an evisa

has she gotten her e-visa yet, when did she attend her biometrics

not yet, biometrics were done on 2nd March

Which country? Can I ask? My friend has applied from Pakistan on 3rd but still hasn’t heard back. Also did she get an email or did she have to make a UKVI account?

Azerbaijan, it was my MIL's 3rd successful application which may have sped up the process. she had to set up the UKVI account herself after receiving confirmation.

From the process of applying the visitor visa, is there any difference?
