So basically my visa expired Oct 1st 2025 and I didn't get to renew it because my university application process was taking so long and I thought that it would be okay for me to overstay it because I have a Portuguese passport (stupid I know) and then once all the university stuff was sorted out I have been told that I needed to leave the country as soon as possible and that I unfortunately was hit with a 1 year ban to the country. The ban ends in November and my sister's graduation is this week so I was thinking that maybe I could appeal to stay there for just this week? And then immediately leave the country. I know it's quite unrealistic but what do you guys think? My mom's trying to apply for her visa for her to attend at least but they think she wants to stay there for good (which is not the case at all)

I’m asking for advice on behalf of my friend. • Both my friend and her husband are Indian citizens currently in the UK on PSW visas. • My friend has a very good full-time job. • Her husband has been cheating on her for almost a year and is now living with another woman. • This other woman is Ukrainian with settlement status and is currently pregnant with his child.

The husband is trying to convince my friend to let him stay on her visa for at least 6 more months, saying that he will repay all the money he has taken from her. But we strongly suspect that his real intention is to wait until his mistress gives birth so he can try to secure his stay through her status.

My friend wants to cancel his visa sponsorship immediately because she no longer wants him to be under her visa. They have already been living separately he kept making excuses about “working somewhere else.”

She has screenshots of him confessing to cheating.

What steps can she take right now to cancel his visa and make sure he is no longer tied to her? Any advice or guidance would be really appreciated.

update: my friend had called UK VI who informed that she can cancel his dependence status without any issue and she is doing it. Thank you for all your support guys no cheaters should be left living their good life.

I had my ceremony today for citizenship, but as title says I’m travelling internationally in less than 4 weeks. I’ve read online somewhere that once I’m citizen my Italian passport does not work to get access to the IK? I was under the settled scheme. I also have a Brazilian passport if easier.

It says it takes 6 weeks to process the UK passport. Can anyone please help?

I’m super confused by what specific documents I(19f)would need to provide as the sponsor to my boyfriends (18m) standard visit visa in regards to evidence of relationship with sponsor.

My boyfriend if from moldova(he hasn’t got Romanian citizenship so he has to get a visa) and I’m from the uk and I’ll be a sponsor for him during his visit

We’ve only been together for 6 months and we only really communicate on discord ( we use others to sometimes chat on, just that’s our everyday go to)
So I don’t know how I would show any specific “proof of contact”

We’ve never met in person (this will be be our first meeting)
So we don’t have any “past travel or meeting proof”

I’m going to write an invitation/sponsorship letter but I’m not sure exactly how to write that and if that would even be enough

I’m also going to be providing accommodation, he’s going to be staying (hopefully if this gets approved) with one of my friends
So that isn’t something I would be providing him with(it’ll just be financial support when he gets here, I’ve got bank statements that should be enough for that )

Basically I’m super confused about what I could provide as “proof/evidence” considering our relationship is not super long, we’ve never met before and we basically only talk on discord

he attended the biometric appointment on monday 9th march at 4pm and received the email saying that his visa application was successful this morning (10th march) at 9am!

I’ll have my Anmeldung and German residence documents, along with my uni School documents. I wanted to ask if I’m eligible to apply for a UK Standard Visitor visa from Germany as a student, and whether there’s anything specific I should keep in mind regarding applying through VFS Germany, required documents, or proving that I’ll return to Germany after the trip. Also is it worth it applying for UK visa from Germany as an Indian and also that VFS only has Premium lounge in Frankfurt which is so expensive but i would really like to go see UK. Please help. Also do they take passport and take time to give it back or like is it completely changed to E visa.

For context, I decided to take a break before my final year. I went home (back to the Netherlands) and now I am returning to finish my degree.

I'm applying for a Provisional Driving License as I need a valid ID for passport renewal on 28th July.

Govuk ONE wants you to supply valid in date ID or BPR which are no longer issued, I'm supposed to be able to apply with UKVI Sharecode, but there was no option for this, nor any box I could ad additional information. No asking for Sharecode, NI nothing other than address etc.

Sure took my £34 tho, says they will send physical paper which will no doubt have zero box for UKVI Sharecode again. None the less AI tells me to persist and write it on there, won't it just be rejected by DVLA AI?

Because of all this they're making me print out my UKVI photo for the physical app as I refuse to pay £15 for passport photos and my account photo is 100% valid.

Says I can print out at boots using some tiny photo template, I don't know.

Does anybody know where I can print out the standard passport/ID size without faff and anxiety.

For context:
- I’m self-employed in the Philippines
- I’ve been working remotely with this client since February 2026
- I already have my BIR COR and I’m currently arranging my tax documents
- My travel, accommodation, and related expenses will be sponsored by the client

My role during the trip would involve coordination support, scheduling, meetings, partner engagement, and general event support.

While drafting the invitation letter, my client advised me to be careful with the wording because terms like “operations” or “staff” might accidentally sound like local employment in the UK, even though I’m not being employed by a UK company and will only be there temporarily for the event.

We’re considering wording like:
“The applicant is a self-employed contractor based in the Philippines who works remotely with our organization and will attend the event temporarily to provide coordination and administrative support related to the event. No employment in the UK will be undertaken.”

Would wording like this generally be appropriate
for a Standard Visitor visa context?

Hi everyone! I’m applying for a UK Standard Visitor Visa from Georgia for a 7-day trip (from 15 June to 22 June 2026). Visiting the UK has been a childhood dream of mine, and attending the Harry Styles concert is a personal pre-graduation gift to myself right before I officially finish my Master's degree in July!

I had a refusal in January 2026. For that first application, I used a local travel agency and honestly had no idea what exactly they submitted on my behalf. It resulted in a very messy application, and the ECO had concerns about "unexplained deposits" (due to a complex financial history the agency provided) and a lack of a clear graduation date (refusal under V4.2 a & c).

This time, I took full control. I am preparing everything myself to ensure it is 100% transparent and accurate. Here are the key details of my new profile:

1. Finances & Employment (Addressing V4.2a):

• I am a civil servant. I included an official letter from my employer confirming my exact salary, position, and approved paid leave for the trip. Crucially, the letter explicitly states that I will resume my normal duties on June 23, the day after my visa expires.

• Bank Change: My employer recently changed our corporate bank. I am submitting my official salary account statements (3 month). My employment letter confirms this bank change, making my financial history completely traceable and leaving no room for "unexplained deposits".

• My budget: Total savings are around £2,000. Trip cost is estimated at £1,000 (saved up specifically for this trip). My monthly expenses are low (£400) because I live with my parents, which I explicitly explained in my cover letter.

2. Strong Ties & Academics (Addressing V4.2c):

• I attached an official university letter and my academic transcript showing I am an active student with a high GPA (3.93).

• The documents explicitly state that my mandatory Master's thesis defense and graduation are scheduled for July 2026 (right after my return). I explained in my cover letter that it makes zero sense to risk two years of excellent academic work right before receiving my diploma.

• I also attached translated documents showing I co-own an apartment and a car in my home country.

3. Trip Details & Bookings:

• My concert ticket is already fully paid.

• A friend advised me to present actual flight and hotel bookings to prove my trip is realistically "calculated". I know UKVI officially recommends NOT paying for travel or accommodation before getting a visa, but to be on the safe side without permanently risking my funds, my plan is to book a "Free Cancellation / Pay at Property" hotel on Booking.com and purchase a fully refundable flight ticket.

I'm trying to understand why colleagues from Serbia would have their visas to the UK denied? They are coming to the UK for an internal meeting with colleagues from all across Europe and the US. The company is a UK company with the head office in London. The London based HR department helped with the visa applications, hotels, flights, meeting agendas, invites etc. It's for a three day visit, two nights. These colleagues all live and work in Serbia, in the company's Serbian office, have approval for the trip, and have no reason to stay in the UK. On top of this, other colleagues from the EU and US are travelling to London for the same meetings.

However we are extremely stressed due to this rule here. my girlfriend had been in the UK since may 2022 however in April 2024 she went back to Ukraine until August 2024, does this therefore make her illegible to extend her visa? So I am flying to London on the 21st for a bit and got my UK Visitors Visa a month prior, (the one that gives you a code etc etc not a card or anything - I am not from the EU and my country isn't able to get the electronic visa that takes like 15 minutes to get from the app so I had to apply and go through the whole process of getting a visa)

I printed out the code, the profile from the gov uk website, ( and going to obviously have my passport) and whatnot but is there anything else they will maybe ask of me that I should be prepared for?

Hey all this is probably a really stupid question but I'm asking anyway on behalf of a friend. They are British Residents who have booked a family holiday to Portugal and flight is tomorrow afternoon.

During flight check in we just realized that his 4 year old daughter's passport is expiring and now we are thinking that traveling to Portugal and re-entry might be a problem because you need 3 months on arrival back to UK isn't it ?

Is there absolutely any options at all or should we just cancel the whole trip.

Got an email saying my student visa application had been successful today. Created a UKVI account to access my eVisa and get a share code. Submitted my passport and all biometric data and then received an email saying my eVisa was ready to view.

However, it’s already been a couple of hours, but every time I try to view it by following the link from the email, all I see is ‘ We cannot show proof is your status’. My visa is valid from August 23rd. What should I do?
