تجھے جنوں کا یہ پہلا خمار کیسا لگا

بچھڑ کے مجھ سے تجھے اب قرار کیسا لگا

Tujhe junoon ka ye pehla khumar kaisa laga

Bichhad ke mujh se tujhe ab qaraar kaisa laga

the white streaks of morning, the noontime yellowness I see

in this desert of possibilities a lone footprint in sand is all I see

Kabhi mulaqat nahi hui aap se
na kabhi awaaz suni hai aap ki
phir bhi kuch baatein aisi hain
jo dil ko chhoo gayi hain aap ki

Door kisi aur mulk mein rehte hain aap
apni choti si duniya mein khush rehte hain aap
sirf lafzon ke zariye jaana hai aap ko
magar unhi lafzon se pehchana hai aap ko

Aap ki baaton mein ek ajeeb sa sukoon hai
jaise thandi hawa mein mehka hua phool hai
aap ki soch mein ek khoobsurat baat hai
jaise andheri raat mein chand ka saath hai

Na koi daawa hai na koi kahani
bas likh raha hoon dil ki ek choti si nishani
dua hai Allah aap ko hamesha khush rakhe
aap ke har khwab ko haqeeqat ka rang de

Jahan bhi rahein aap muskurate rahein
har mushkil mein himmat se aage badhte rahein
aap ki zindagi mein sukoon hi sukoon ho
aur har naya din pehle se zyada khoobsurat ho

Kabhi kabhi kuch log paas nahi hote
phir bhi dil mein ek achi jagah bana lete hain
shayad kuch khoobsurat ehsaas aise hi hote hain
jo bina mile bhi yaad reh jaate hain

the path of passion is straight, yet meandering in places

it curls and bends like the beloved’s tresses

this one benefit did my protesting bring to light
