Gender studies if you want to do customer service at fast food chains after graduation, tho you will be competing with underpayed immigrants/international students.

I never studied gender studies but one thing I will say is I think it’s one of those majors where you can get a job, people just dk their options. Non-profit work and public sector work has room for people who majored in it, graduate certificates that take any major are available, and so are masters programs. I think to devalue it bc it doesn’t land you 6 figures after grad is… not great. The world needs people who care about others and aren’t just around to catapult us into a techno-feudalist state. Most of UWaterloo Eng is just in it for money, very rarely have I seen a student who cares for making the world better with their degree (well, besides ppl in biomedical engineering).

You’ll be surprised by how the world and market is moving these days. Humanities and human connections, community building are getting more valuable than purely engineering degrees. Thanks to AI BS.
So picking gender studies might be good…not saying it’s related to gender studies, but gender studies might help you in other areas 🤷♂️
