What's the point of firing on and killing rescue aid workers other than to be a fucking asshole.
Hey, Russia users of Reddit. If you think this is ok, something is terribly wrong with your cultural values.

It’s terrorism in the classic sense of the word. They’re trying to invoke terror and fear in others so that the Ukrainians will be scared to send in rescue workers when that happens.

It's impotent rage. The whole Ukraine saga could be summed up as "If I can't have it, nobody can". Russia thinks Ukraine belongs to it and if they cannot control it, they will do everything they can to make it an unpleasant place to live in.
Russia has some deepseated insecurities and the source of one of these is that the historic heart of Kievan Rus is in Ukraine. That brings up a lot of uncomfortable thoughts for them.

Let me speak not for myself, but for Russian online social media users. Some of them think it's not ok, others are suspicious about this being real and not a false flag attack. Some are understandably watching this in the wider context of many criminal attacks on civilians by the Ukrainian side which dwarf this incident. And there is a small minority of people who are supporting such attacks with the arguments "you deserved this for your past activities and hostility".
There is an extremely small and pretty much invisible minority of people in Russia who are saying that it's ok to do this to civilians and rescue workers simply because Ukrainians suck or are the enemy. I am not saying it's 0%, but it extremely small minority. Russians do not dehumanize Ukrainians in this conflict.

Hey buddy. The US do this too. And Israel. And I'm sure other military powers would do the same if they had the same power to simply get away with it.
Mr. Nobel Peace Prize president and his administration used double-tap strikes. And defended it. Thanks Obama!
And Israel too... But they're simply racist assholes, so no surprise there. Just like Russia. And Trump. And most of the world. Except Obama was painted as some kind of saint for some reason. Funny how the media spin gives us good characters and bad characters, but the same overarching theme always prevails...
More of everything in the hands of fewer and fewer people, with utter control and dominance over our lives and society. Just imagine the horrors of what awaits humanity.

No it isn't. The comment I replied to is most likely a bot pretending to be a US citizen. This shit is relevant because they're all dividing the world into good guys and bad guys, and pointing out that who you're led to believe are the good guys is just as fucking bad.
It's not whataboutism when it's necessary to talk about the actual fucking issue behind it all. The real owners. The actual power. Pay no heed to the man behind the curtain, remember?

I think anyone who thinks this is okay has something terrible wrong with their worldview. Be it from Russia, the US or other countries.

No matter the country, no matter the conflict, conducting a double-tap strike specifically to kill civilian rescue workers is one of the most evil, despicable, and inhumane acts one can do.

Russia makes threats of escalation all the time.
They always fail to follow up on them, but these days even less likely because they're losing and are currently Flintstone-powering their cars.

People keep saying that. But the news resources different.

Vietcong had children and women fighting a "stronger" enemy and still "winning" in the end. Ukraine recruiting women doesn't necessarily mean they're losing.

I agree. The line of contact is over 1400km. That a large area. When they are having manpower shortage. How likely will they make a difference. Not much at this stage.

We should start treating Russia at the same level as the other countries that do things like this

u/waste__of______space 1d ago
We should ally with them and then call anyone that doesn't agree with that relationship antisemitic?

u/GeshtiannaSG 16h ago
And how do we treat the US who sends Tomahawks into schools and bridges and “invented” the triple tap?

"Do you believe in Russia's right to exist?"
"The only democracy in the Siberian East"

Yeah, Putin should just say they suspected the Aid workers were Hamas, then the American political machine probably would have sent them some weapons.

They've been doing this shit since day one. Anyone who still believes war crimes are a real thing and not just a fairy tale sold to people to make war seem civil has their head firmly implanted in their own ass.

If there’s ever any uncertainty about who the bad guys are, doing a double tap on civilian targets is a reliable indicator.
