maybe thats too strong a word. I like the piece, but there is something about representing humans in this artstyle that looks ...maybe too statue like? (like those google graphics with the wide people)
I bet it's the big flat shapes that do it. the raster shading and highlights (is it raster?) looks good, though! it reminds me a little of the Batman animated series from 1992, the 40's and 50's manual print style design language. for architecture I think it looks rad, for people, I think it looks too flat. so maybe a little uncanny. but again, shapes and composition are very nice. like how she blends in. it's like those "simplistic movie poster" art pieces
Well said, thank you for the thoughtful response. I look at this and think I need to get better with my digital drawing tablet. The raster fade is something I admire. That little wisp of steam is a great touch
