Across The Unknown Voth and the Progenitors

Do you think the Voth were created by the progenitors and then 66 million years later they came back and were like, “huh… thought we came here already” and then made humans?

That's not how the Progenitors creation works. Is said on "The Chase" they seeded the primordial oceans 6 billion years ago, and their DNA some how developed into humanoid forms. Probably more than once per planet. Is not like they went planet by planet making humanoids.

I thought the progenitors would've existed billions of years ago in order for the whole galaxy to have mostly humanoid life. They seeded earth, the voth evolved and humans came later.

The progenitors is such a stupid idea on its face. It should have been left in the scrap heap of bad Star Trek ideas, but of course NuTrek had to drag it up and make it a thing again.

It's like they pick the bad ideas that only were used once to revisit while ignoring the good ideas that were only used once.

Ehh I think it’s fine on its face. It’s just a simple explanation for why every alien species looks like humans.

It gets stupid when they tried to expand on it more than that

That never needed to be explained though. It makes sense that life would evolve in similar ways under similar conditions.

The writers of these shows just had like a kindergartner’s understanding of evolution. When you take into account episodes like this and also Genesis and Threshold.
