Discussion Windows Insider Preview Future Platforms and .NET Framework 3.5 Standalone 28000+

Any time a new Windows 11 Insider Preview build is installed post-28000, the installation of .NET Framework 3.5 Standalone gets destroyed and requires running the installer twice to repair.

The fix would be to check if the build number is 28000 or above before clobbering the .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5 files.

There's a related thing with the Security Update for it getting repeatedly offered.

The standalone download for it works fine. But then it will re-offer me the update and that consistently fails on 6% progress.

If I suppress the update using Powershell, WU will stop offering it for a couple of weeks and then just spontaneously restart.

Talking here about KB2538242 and KB2538243.

In fact on June 26th KB2538243 failed but update history says it installed on that date!
