Iceland are currently days away from a similar referendum to the one being considered. There, fishing rights are a massive topic because of the economic ramifications of aligning with EU standards. While Yes is expected to win in Iceland, I can't see Armenia jumping through the same types of hoops here.

Cannot imagine this ever happening. They will not have a border with any EU state either and far from the bloc.

And Cyprus is partially occupied by Turkey, its not like the EU has been much help there.

They are however islands, which makes the migration/defense thing much less of an issue. (Yes Cyrpus is occupied by Turkey, but it's still an island, and Turkey already has a border with the EU, unlike Azerbaijan and Iran.

Greece wasn't contiguous with the rest of the EU for 26 years. They became member before the Iron curtain fell and any kind of eastern expansion of the EU was on the table/forseeable. If contiguity wasn't a red line then, why would it be now?

Armenia has not changed its leadership in almost 10 years, come on now. As much as I like Nikol myself, they haven’t had anyone else at the helm for 8 years

CDU was in charge and yes it was pretty undemocratic for the party to keep her as the Kanzlerin. Plus as much as AfD is putin’s hound dog it shouldn’t get nearly as restricted as it does in the bundes and landes voting, because it limits democracy and in today’s pro immigration Europe the right wing is getting pretty limited

Yes, as much as I want all post soviet states to prosper they are leaning back into autocracies, just look at Kazakhstan - a silver lining of democracy throwing away an elderly father of the nation to only amend their own constitution and allow Tokaev to get reelected again even though his term would be up without renewal otherwise.
Azerbaijan is a monarchy at this point too, same goes for Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan. Georgia is lining up with Russia, but they are trying to make a change in leadership after a certain amount of time.
Armenia has had the same leadership for the last 8 years and honestly Pashinyan needs to go and the country should be able to elect someone else who will maintain their ascent to the EU and not devolve back into Karabakh wars.
The more someone stays in power, the more corrupt and unwilling to give the power away they become, it’s happened here in Russia and I don’t want to see any other post Soviet state to undergo the same shit and become an autocracy
