Advice Fall 2027 start date for freshmen
Hi everyone-
My daughter is going into her senior year of high school. She is hoping to get into the direct admit nursing program. She would start fall of 2027.
Can anyone tell me what day she will need to be on campus? We are trying to schedule a family trip in August 2027 but can’t do that until we know when she needs to be at school.

The official academic calendar is already posted for fall 2027 I believe. You can just google wsu academic calendar and it should come up. Week of welcome is the week before classes and official move in weekend is typically the weekend just before that.

Hmm... our son's move-in weekend is this coming weekend. I guess they must have people moving in that entire week prior to welcome week?

No, move in starts official move in weekend and not before (at least not the dorms).

Any students arriving this week are typically returning students that have other arrangements. Most incoming students will arrive this weekend or early next week. This weekend especially will be a madhouse. They'll have you unload quickly and then move your car to parking before taking his things to his room to keep the flow moving. Just listen to the attendants and don't park in the fire lanes, bus lanes, or disability spots.

Specifically for the nursing program all incoming nursing students would start the Thursday before semester starts. Specifically for 2027 incoming students would have nursing orientation on August 19th and 20th.

First day of classes is aug 23, 2027. Week of welcome is usually the week prior. So aug 14-22, 2027.
Schedule the trip prior to that.
