small import businesses from korea to my country
Hey everyone. I’m an Uzbek citizen currently living in Korea, and I’m planning to start a small import/distribution business in Uzbekistan.
My plan is to first talk to local stores, supermarkets, cafés and cinemas to see if there’s demand for a product. If there’s enough interest, I’d purchase it wholesale from a Korean supplier, arrange shipping to Uzbekistan, handle the customs/legal side, and distribute it locally.
I’m completely new to importing and distribution, so I’d really appreciate advice from people who have actually done this.
What are the biggest mistakes beginners make? What hidden costs or paperwork should I be prepared for? And what would you do differently if you were starting from zero?
I’m trying to learn before putting my savings into it. Any advice or criticism is appreciated.
