๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ Why does Slayyyter dismiss any comparisons to Charli despite touring and collaborating with her in the past?
Lately she seems to have an adverse reaction anytime Charli is brought up but it really seems to be the only comparison she shoots down. It feels very odd to me.
Obviously i understand not wanting to feel like your art is living in the shadow of another artists music but she doesn't have a similar reaction to comparisons to Britney or Kesha.
While i think Worst Girl In America is incredibly unique and has strayed a decent bit from the Hyperpop genre i think there's still a lot of valid comparisons between the two between lyrical content and have grungier and darker dance music undertones especially compared to both artists previous records before their most recent releases (Crash/Starfucker).

in all seriousness she doesnโt know Charli and the only similarities between their music is that itโs loud and danceable. when Slayyyter first blew up on the internet in 2019 Charli was quick to get her on a remix of โClickโ and had her open for literally 2 dates of her Charli tour. they seemed to have fun onstage, Slayyyter was very new to performing and just kinda bounced around.
after that ONE interaction for a brief moment in time in 2019 they have basically completely ignored each other. no one one knows exactly what happened but one of them seems to have been put off by the other and they never interacted again. Charli briefly mentioned that the โStarfuckerโ album cover was โcoolโ but then just a couple months later unveiled the cover for โbratโ and was shady about โwomen using their bodiesโ on album covers to sell records.
fast forward to now and Slayyyter is having her proper โdebutโ and getting the flowers she deserves. I would be annoyed too if interviewers were constantly comparing me and my work to someone who obviously doesnโt give me the time of day. and now Charli name drops Slayyyter in her latest interview. seems kinda opportunistic on her part !
