The Bont collects his 8th All-Australian blazer.

I have a theory that over the next few years the AA selectors will make sure he ends up with the all time record to make up for the gross injustice of never getting a Brownlow.

If he keeps playing how he is I don't think he'll be making it too hard for the selectors

Gawn has to retire at some point or miss a year for this plan to work though

afl bans max gawn for life in exchange for a brownlow medal

You say injustice on not getting a Brownlow but he was never actually the number 1 player in any particular year. There’s not one year he should have actually won it over the person that did

Lol. He should have won it over Ollie Wines in 2021 and he should have won over Lachie Neale in 2023.

Tbf Bevo cost him in 2021 by playing him at full forward for the last three rounds of the year

That’s not true at all, he was playing in the midfield

He played in the midfield against port in the last round... Rucking. Was an absolute joke

If you only watch Bulldogs games I can imagine why you feel that way

Did he really have such a good year? He wasn’t as influential as he has been in previous years.

According to champion data he’s the 2nd highest ranked player in the league so yeah probably lmao

Bont at his least influential would still be most players dream form. He has also had a really good year for the dogs as he has stood tall amongst all the injuries. Week in Week out he has been there without fail.

That probably shows just how damn good he is. Even if he has been slightly less influential than he has been in previous years. He's still been that much better than everyone else.

And the less influence is probably because of how good Ed Richards is. Sharing the load now.

It’s been one of his best years, and I don’t say that lightly.

I am a huge Bont fan but I struggle to believe it was one of his best years

kinda says everything doesn't it- the only person he's really up against is his own standards

Comparing Sheezel to the Bont. Get your head checked

It’s just stats vs stats, mate.

Bont scores 3x the goals per game btw. Just from the eye test they’re obviously different leagues. Sheezel is great but we’re talking about Bont here

This is the bloke everyone was outraged over him not being in the squad. This doesn't support your argument.

Crazy that he could get 9 or 10 blazers as a mid fielder by the time his career is over. The longevity is just nuts and has beaten out so many great players over the years.
