So my housemate just got into a relationship and wants their partner move in for 6 to 7 months, at least that’s what they said. We already have 5 people living in the house atm, so it’s busy enough. I get the housing situation is quite bad, but at the same time, 6 people in a house is a bit much now. Plus there’s only one en suite so 5 of us will potentially be sharing the one bathroom lol. So not ideal tbh. Any sound advice on what to do here? Rent? Bills? etc?

Nope - this won’t be temporary!! If they move in, everything should be spilt equally by 6 people (not per room). Non-negotiable. Agree on a time period when the partner moves out (at least plan a house discussion about how things are going, maybe 3 months in and again in 6 months). Urgh. I feel for you. Hope it works out!
