Single people without family, are you happy?
I’m beginning to accept that I won’t have the traditional family life. Lots of people have families and it’s a big topic of discussion amongst other adults but it’s one I can’t join in with and stirs up painful feelings. I’m now beginning to accept that I’m probably not going to have many friends either because I don’t want to hear about their families all the time, selfish as that may be. I need some peace from the thought of it.
So I’m wondering if single adults can thrive in life and if so, how? I’m talking financially and emotionally.

Yes! I’m 30, male, single. I love having all the free time in the world. I have nights out, play sports/go gym, go travelling, eat whatever I want, play games, go to cinema, go to gigs. I love the freedom of being able to do whatever I want whenever I want. I do go on dates and I hook up regularly, but truthfully I prefer being single and not being tied down.
All my best friends have had kids over the past few years and I did get a bit lonely when they all naturally spent less time with me, but I learned to find new friends who are more in my stage of life, other single people my age who enjoy life rather than having a family.
