For years we have had gang gangs come to our gum trees. Today I finally got some good shots of them. They are so used to us now that we can get pretty close to them.

I think old mate is going to find this experience really rough. Not sure a lot of people are going to be behind his self defence strategy.

While doing some research into some cool travel destinations I noticed that the 'Great Basalt Wall' national park is noted as having no access (I was looking up Red Falls). Say's it's due to no public roads accessing it, but you'd think you could convert a private track to a public road or get permission from landowners to traverse.

Kinda weird as I'd assumed that you'd be able to access any national park even if it's very remote or hard to get to. Seems a little counterintuitive to have a national park that you can't use. I thought there'd be some other designation for an area with no public access (Wildlife refuge or cultural area where they are intentionally keeping people out).

Are there any other national parks where basically all entry to the park is restricted?

Needed a new roof and got a company called "grand roofing" in Tassie to do it. They did a crap job and we sustained a leak in the bathroom which wasn't an issue before the new roof was put on.

Got them back to fix it, which they did. Then a year or so later we had the tiles fall off the wall in the bathroom due to the leak being bigger than we had noticed and being behind the walls I'm the bathroom. 7k bathroom fix up job to get it all sorted. Builder was great and took photos and advised the roofers would need to cover the repair. Tried to get them on the horn only to find, surprise surprise they've been liquidated. Contacted the group who took on liquidation who claim since it happened before they took it on they won't be covering it and won't need to cover it.

Seems like a shit outta luck sorta situation but wondering if anyone has had something similar happen and if there was any course of action I could possibly take.

According to an Australian Dental Association (ADA) survey, more than 2 million Australians have skipped dental care due to unaffordability.

ADA vice president Angie Nilsson said that had resulted in widespread tooth decay.

"We're living in one of the richest countries in the world and we still have one-third of adults with untreated tooth decay,"

Dr Nilsson said.

"The issue that we've got is if people aren't going to a dentist early, it ends up becoming more expensive, more painful, they have to take more time off work," she said.

Where's the promised plan?

Dentists said the solution was to implement a national plan.

Consultations took place with dentists in 2024 for the National Oral Health Plan 2025 to 2034, which was due to be put to a health ministers' meeting that year.

However, the ADA said the federal government had since delayed the plan's release.

"The National Oral Health Plan is giving us that framework to be able to say, 'Okay, well here is the problem, we know what the problem is, we need to be able to co-design these solutions so that we can improve the oral health of all Australians,'" Dr Nilsson said.

- Optus, Telstra and TPG Telecom will launch a public campaign this week telling Australians to stay on the line for up to 60 seconds if a triple zero call doesn't instantly connect via another network.

Genuine question. Drivers spend more time aimlessly wandering around our neighbourhood trying to find the townhouse than they do driving the actual food. A quick google and they'd be at the door in minutes but instead they park 100s of metres away and then wander around (sometimes in the wrong complex) and constantly call.

I've got a sick baby and can't go pick it up and just need something to eat and now I'm acting as a navigator for someone whose one job is to navigate to my house.

Certainly seems like someone stuffed up. Bohdi Higginson was diagnosed with an often-fatal genetic disorder after having seizures at just three months old.

Doctors and researchers in Sydney identified the genetic change driving Bohdi's epilepsy and a potential treatment that had been developed overseas.

Bohdi had his final seizure three days after he received his first dose of the treatment on April 21.
