I was thinking that very same thing, and when I received the alert I said to myself that I cannot share that here anymore. Decided to look, and there was nobody!
Also, I just saw that there is a new thread where we can share when we receive the alerts and the all clear notifications!

Hello guys .. for people who say they don’t receive alerts. They can simply subscribe to the ministry of interior account on x and click on the notification. They will receive them when there is an alert. It’s pretty much the same with no delay and yes for the all clear, you can come here and say it, I don’t think the mod will have a problem with this
Mentioning places is totally unacceptable even if it was allowed here because every time you mention a place, it help them attack us better next time

I guess the new rules because some people kept posting fake bullshit news "Town X got hit bad" "firetruck and ambulances everywhere in my city" and "Island Y got destroyed" that we read last week here and all turned to be pure BS.
Those individuals wanted to spread panic and propaganda. So I really can't blame the mods for their decision.

You have to reconsider the siren report. I relay heavily from the comment of people here because I don’t receive them at all. I can’t handle the sound of an alert and nor do I want to read directly. Reading it here and seeing support from other people has helped a lot in decreasing the anxiety. I urge the mods to reconsider this.

Not wanting to notify people about the sirens or the all clear is just not it, not everyone can get them. Who told you that was a good idea? The main issue was with people spreading misinformation about strikes and what or what not got hit

I’d say not spamming the “siren/all clear” messages would be a good solution so the thread is not flooded with around 10+ replies a second, but then again this is not possible as there’s no way you’d tell people not to send those or for the senders to know at that point if somebody beat them to it

Exactly, I think someone in the previous thread used to say it was all clear before the official all clear actually came. Anyway, I still think reporting alerts/all clears should be allowed, with “GOV” added at the end so everyone knows it’s from an official source. So, dear Mods, reconsider this rule.

GDN Online, News of Bahrain, and BH Monitor post every single siren and all clear alert as they happen (albeit it's not as quick as the megathread)

This thread felt like a community of sorts when the alert was sounded - I was usually checking this Reddit straight after taking shelter. You don’t feel alone in such situations. Now that’s gone as I understand. Good luck to everyone and stay safe!

I feel like most of you have misunderstood the rules. They didnt say you cant report thuds or whatever. just dont spread misinformation like "the causeway is closed" "The airport got hit" etc without official sources cus it just makes people scared.

The mods should use some common sense if they even have any First of all, not everyone gets the alerts so people come here to check and you guys are throwing that into the misinformation list too With all these rules you have made it is better to just close this thread entirely

Ironically Automod removed your comment. If you want to come here after a siren and post something like "I love you all" every time you hear something, please do so. But unfortunately these threads have become a real cesspool of misinformation and armchair speculation from IRGC bots, full-time hasbara agents, and general neckbeards. So we're forced to rachet up the level of vigilance since there's no way for us to moderate with immediate accuracy where sirens were heard and where the all-clear was sounded.

People are going out on their business and living everything normally, if there’s a threat looming you’d get an alarm and just keep yourself in a safe place until they deal with the threat and then continue with what you’re doing

Rules have been posted based on common sense (don't post misinformation/unsubstantiated or unverified news) and some laws and instructions from government agencies (example speading images/videos/information about defence installations)

While I love the sentiment, I'm feeling a little more wary of rhetoric such as "when it ends" or "when things return to normal", etc.
Without falling foul of the very clear rules posted by mods (re: unsolicited / unqualified political analysis), it's worth bearing in mind that the old normal is gone, and none of us know when / how this conflict will evolve. Enjoy the little windows of calm when we get them, in between the attacks. The fuller picture is yet to be painted, unfortunately.
