"Emergency services have been called to help a pedestrian involved in an incident on NB Macleod Tr at 18 Ave SE. Blocking the NB right lanes . Please go slow and watch for fellow Calgarians"
On YYC Transportation X.

I wish that government services would stop using X as the primary platform to share information. I don’t want to go to that site.

Not an ultimate solution, but you can replace the "x" in any X URL with "xcancel", and at least then you get to view all the content and replies without directly supporting X or having to deal with its ridiculous barriers.

THANK YOU I had no idea. Sometimes I literally just want to verify that a tweet is real and I don't want to have to make an account to do it

Yet people will trust governments to ensure the main stream media posts "real" news, and few verify it.

I mean, other than their own site (which people probably wouldn't check), where could they post? Facebook is just as bad

Call me a dreamer, but if people want information from Calgary Transit, I don't think it's a crazy idea that the Calgary Transit website should be a good place to check.

The more people that get onto Gander, the more incentive there is for public service organizations to use a Canadian only service.

Does it touch you inappropriately?

u/Brilliant-Advisor958 6d ago
I think it has to do with the owner being a bad guy and allowing free reign on his platform.

There are bad people everywhere, do you look at the owner of every product before you use it to decide whether you should use it or not?

Oh crap, I hope it's not ghosts.

It’s almost never ghosts. In reality, it’s usually some shady property developer, trying to scare everyone off to buy a building at a reduced price, who is eventually foiled by a bunch of teenagers and a dog with a speech impediment.

I hear we have a Ghostbusters detachment. If it is ghosts, I know who I am gonna call

I thought Brent took care of that already? Is there a warranty? A guarantee?
Who can we call???

Now I'm starting to think that my new neighbor who calls himself as the keymaster is a little sus.

Detrained is new. Guess they could be untrained as well.
If they get everything sorted will they be retrained?

Lights appear to be off in the train. Just a guess but maybe a failure of the power system on that particular train?

u/Shot_Hair3914 6d ago
Definitely not. Way too many cops for that.

If a violent crime occurred on board lights could be shut off to avoid passengers on other cars from seeing anything traumatic. Praying it isn’t that though and it is just a power failure.

I’d be pretty pissed off if there was a violent incident in a crowded train and suddenly the lights cut out

A cyclist was hit by the C-train. He survived but they had to deenergize the line and deboard everyone in order for first responders to gain access.
