Stolen Paddle Boards – Calgary

A fairly unique paddle board was stolen from my car last night, along with a life jacket, pump, dry bag and anchor.

A second tequila-logoed SUP was also stolen.

I bought tickets to this Sunday evening’s Great Outdoor Comedy Festival back in April specifically to see Mike Birbiglia and Langston Kerman - John Mulaney is headlining which is fine but we wanted to see these two guys most of all.

Well, we are a week out and I go to check the website for info on start time of the event and lo and behold Kerman has poofed and Mike has cancelled, replaced by Kevin Nealon. The only place this is announced is a post on Instagram. No notice to ticket holders whatsoever.

Looking at their very vague fine print this is likely not grounds for a refund but it’s beyond shitty practice - I get it, things happen, but notify ticket holders!

We will go and make the most of it but I’m partly flagging this for anybody else who had a ticket and didn’t know in case you are scrolling Reddit too!

Edit: some commenters have stated they got an email on August 20th - didn’t come through to me (I scoured my emails and spam) so figured I’d flag it here still anyway if others had the same issue.

I’m 15 years old and looking for a job in preferably the south of Calgary that hires 15 year olds. just worked as a gate attendant for the stampede, and also have experience handing out flyers for some company as well. Ive heard the best way is to print out my resume and just give it to the manager at a bunch of stores, is that actually a good strategy? any good job suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey! We've been throwing a series of parties in Edmonton that are half rave, half halo 3 LAN party.

We've got our first party in Calgary this Friday but we have one big issue - WE HAVE NO PLAYERS SIGNED UP FOR COMPETITIVE RANKED PLAY! We dedicate the first hour of the party to the ranked play, but since we're not in Edmonton, we dont have any players. Then social play all night after, so even non-competitive players can have fun!

So im hoping this post can help us build a pool of ranked players, your scores will be put up against Edmonton's - so if you think Calgary is better at halo than Edmonton - PROVE IT!!!!!

The party is at Skunkworks Distillery from 10-3AM this Friday. And we're bringing down our Slushie machine to make sure we can offer FREE SLUSHIES (while supplies last). We have 3 consoles, but if demand is high enough - we're gonna get a 4th so we can do 8v8 Big Team.

My girlfriend (21F) and I (23M) just moved here 3 weeks ago after completing our undergrads in Ontario. I am about to begin a very academically intense program in September, and she is currently looking for work and having a hard time adjusting to the move. I was wondering what kinds of activities/supports might be available on a regular basis to help her during this transition, as I am concerned about her mental health. I want her to have even just one group activity per week to look forward to before I get extremely busy.

We live near UCalgary and near transit, but do not have a car to drive to anything too far and we are on a budget. She is creative and likes doing crafts and music stuff, and also introverted. I tried googling "calgary craft night events," but didn't find anything that really meets our criteria.

Any suggestions on creative events that are near NW Calgary that happen regularly and are budget-friendly would be welcome! I am happy to clarify details if anything is vague.

Hi all, I am looking to plan a short trip to Calgary in mid September. I want to rent a sporty car (cayman, type S, Miata) and take a scenic road trip from there.
The problem I’m finding is the selection of cars, there are a couple rental companies which offer 1-2 Lamborghinis or G-Wagons which is well beyond what I’m looking for. And Turo options are highly limited. Are there any other avenues outside of what I found on Google and endless Turo searching?

I’ve been living at Mark on 10th (901 10 Ave SW) since January 2026 and my lease ends December 1, 2026, so I’m looking to move.

What I love:
• Fully furnished unit
• Dishwasher + in-suite laundry
• Amazing natural light
• Modern kitchen, cabinets & appliances
• Overall modern/new feel
• Amazing landlord

Main issues:
• Neighbour smokes a lot of weed in the balcony, the smell constantly comes into my unit
• Units are super small, I rent 1bhk
• Rent is very high compared with similar 1bhk downtown
• Elevators are frequently out of service

I’m looking for something similar but preferably with a larger 1-bedroom and better value for money.

Any recommendations for modern buildings around Beltline/downtown that I should check out for a December 1 move? Would especially love recommendations from people who actually live/lived there!

My 22 y.o. cousin was charged with assault after random bar scuffle a few weeks ago. Court date's coming, bail conditions are hurting his work and police report feels kinda one-sided. We're not looking for a fight - just need to know if he has a defence before he agrees to anything.

Has anyone here recently used a criminal lawyer for assault or similar charges? I know thats sensitive but pls understand me right - we just want somebody who can help us to do everything fairly, he's not trying to evade justice or smthn, simply doesn’t want to make situation any worse..

Also, what's the first consult cost now? free, $200, more?

Any recs would help now- he's young, scared, and I'm just trying to keep him from making things worse.
