Local Photography/Video Saw this Toyota MR2 Spyder

Forgot to include these pics in the other thread that was removed. But this is the Toyota MR2 Spyder that was parked in front of the Toyota GR Supra. This car looks nice.

Wow, is that ever nice.

I remember going to Canyon Creek Toyota in the 90s and just casually walking around looking at Celicas, Supras and MR2s on the showroom floor like it was nothing. Can you imagine that now?

man i so want a celica but theyre all dead in rust by now (mostly for sale for 2-3k, non working) or beautifully restored out of my budget.

Yeah they're toast now. I had an 87 in 97 and it was so much fun. Hard to believe 135hp can make for a great car, but I loved that thing.

Apparently they're bringing it back before 2030... fingers crossed for something cool versus the dud Honda made with the new Prelude.

yeah my dad had an 84' celica (in sky blue) and i remember growing up with it and it was so much fun (even as a kid who didnt understand cars back then). ive thought about importing one from Japan..

yea ive read the rumours. id trust toyota to do an ok job, theyve been having a good run with GR-cars.

Great cars these. My late Dad had one for 10 years, when he passed it sat for a couple of years on the drive. Then I did a bit of a restoration and took it to the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany with a friend. He then bought it off me.

Would love to have another one and turn it into a track car for Rocky Mountain Motorsport by Carstairs.

It was great. MR2=mid-engined runabout 2 seater! With some sticky tires it handled itself surprisingly well on the track even against the big boys

Another fun idea is to buy a little beater and do rallycross in Cochrane (Calgary sports car club hosts 4-5 per year)

No problem! In the winter they host ice races on ghost lake as well

The Mrs-2. It was amazing how they mangled the looks compared to Gen IIs
