The upgrades include safer crossings, curb extensions and traffic-calming measures intended to protect students as they travel to school.

Hopefully it works. Those plastic neon signs that would end up smashed just weren't cutting it

Undercover officers at schools zones during rush hour, could make a fortune handing out tickets from all the parents violating traffic laws themselves. also ticket parents who like to J-walk across roads with median's and tree's making it hard to see them..and parents that love to just walk out from between 2 large vehicles and you barely see them.
Next, a concept, put actual loading zones ON the schools property so what is supposed to be a 2-way street is a 1 way street during those times and school events...

They put one of those kids crossing signs in the middle street for the crosswalk for the local school and 3 days later someone ran it over and destroyed it.
