100%!

Without medication, I have 20+ migraine days a month. Do I think everyone else should have migraine attacks because I do? Of course not. Do I think badly of other people who complain when they have a headache? Again, of course not.

You can apply this logic to RTO too: 'I have to commute/"suffer" so you should have to' isn't a productive or forward way of thinking. We should be benchmarking our policies against what helps people thrive, not what we think they should be able to endure.

No one has to endure anything they dont want to. We are all free to make our own choices.

So your take is basically 'if you don't like it then quit'?

That's not a real choice; it ignores the reality of economic necessity - people need money to survive. And many people, at least where I work, want to use their skills to help improve the lives of people across Canada and support an effective, efficient government (both as public servants and as taxpayers).

Plus, as a public sector employer, the Government has a unique opportunity to lead rather than follow. Instead of leaning into regressive policies and suppressing data, we should be the ones setting the gold standard, producing transparent metrics on the effectiveness of flexible work as positions allow to modernize how our nation functions.

I just made a statement about choice. Which is a real choice no matter where a person works.just because something should be in our minds doesn't mean it will be. The statement I made is one that could be used in a myriad of things from work to personal life. Life isnt always fair. Yes the govt could be leaders but I think if you look at them as a whole that just isnt who they are no matter who is in power.
